nadine khouri | you got a fire
London-based Nadine Khouri is stronger than you think. Her’s is a musical strength born out of vulnerability and a penchant for bearing her soul. Not for the sake of it, but to connect us to her beautiful truth, a painful past and her optimistic creativity. Her latest release, “You Got A Fire,” reads more like self-observation than anything else. Here, Nadine’s style is sparse, almost bare bones (reminiscent of her beautifully haunting song To Sleep). Nadine’s is a singing voice caught in the low-branches where a soul can reach it. This is song as asylum, and you’ll hang in a tangle, the last leaf fluttering upon her comforting wind. The single, You Got A Fire is out now courtesy of One Flash Records. Make sure to look for Nadine’s full album Lost Continents in 2016. Peace.

You Got A Fire: Lyrics
You got a fire
A garland of wire
A prayer in the gutters of Love
Dust spins at your feet
Highways you breathe
In you, I can believe
We burn until we fall asleep
And ascend into a dream
A blanket of blue
From my heart to you
Your fire burns so tall
I watched the rain fall
A cascade of ropes
Onto the dirty street
You got a fire
The bane of it all
In you, I do believe
We burn until we fall asleep
And ascend into a dream
A blanket of blue
From my heart to you
Your fire burns so tall
(You’ve got a fire, and it burns so tall…)
