jessy lanza | you and me | hyperbub 10.2 | 2nd 10th anniversary compilation

Jessy Lanza gives good head over heels music. Her crystalline and skittish beats, within seconds the bass drops all rubbery and buoyant. Then, at last her dreamy vocals kick in all sexy ala Janet Jackson-esque and it’s giving me goosebumps on my frontal cortex. Dip me in this all day every day. ang low | life goes down ep

Psst! The world is filled with vast soundscapes blossoming bouquets of possibility, infinitely. Why do I love penning this music blog? Well, everyday I am surprised and therefore thankful for the many artist adding their creative input and making me a believer over and over again. So, just so you know the Top 40 ain’t the only gig in town folks.

Check out Brooklynite Ang Low and his latest, the Life Goes Down EP. The EP includes 4-tracks, Can’t Describe Her, which unfolds like dark and sultry rose petals, dew heavy with the trappings of a heavy R&B influence. The EP title-track Life Goes Down sashays sweetly within the bell of your ear, this is the gospel of love at it’s finest, a declaration proclaiming devotion and a requited loveship forevermore. Then there is the tender as butterfly wings, Win Back Your Love, and the battle is on, to win back love…

The final reveal, Voodoo Woman is a frenetic shadow chant like a fiery shot over the bow of would be lovers the world over. Yet, to no avail for what is love without chaos and vice versa. At any rate you’ve be warned. All in all Ang Low fuses hormone infused lushness with atmospheric electronics with tinges of R&B and Soul and it is all tied up neatly with amazing vocals.

Ang Low’s debut the Life Goes Down EP drops courtesy of Luv Luv Luv Records on March 31st, 2014. Peace. Continue reading “ang low | life goes down ep”

As you can hear, Ms. Pockson and B. Matthews haven’t missed a step with this one, it slithers exotically and gets the blood flowing to your EAR-rogenous zones. The Oasis album drops in May courtesy of Untrue Records. Peace. Continue reading “alpines // oasis”

Moderat has admitted to doing us fans a grave injustice. The track Last Time didn’t make the cut on their wildly successful LP II. However, it made the cut as a bonus track on the limited Deluxe Edition of Moderat’s II release.

It will get the vinyl treatment, alongside an instrumental version, an alternate version and the only guest remix by Jon Hopkins, who will also support Moderat at their second Berlin show at the Columbiahalle on February 27, 2014.

“Last Time” is now available for pre-order at Monkeytown Records. Peace. Continue reading “moderat // last time = alternate version”
