autobahn | society

Autobahn enters the room trailing a rock morbidity (read sensibility) reminiscent of Joy Division with the averted and downcast eyes of Bauhaus before Peter Murphy got happy. The track Society is taken from the debut album, Dissemble, via Tough Love Records and is scheduled to drop the latter part of August (21st). Peace. Continue reading “autobahn | society”

the sherpas | six steps |official video

The Sherpas release a video for their latest rock rhythmic track Six Steps. From the very beginning the guitar licks start a frenetic free fall and soon the song is in a full blown groove vibe. The track is taken from the bands recent Six Steps single, the b-side contains an alternate version of the song Telescope. You should also check out the bands previous release Soirée EP. Peace. tree  //  karma police (official video)

The way out west artist Tree (Oliver Nickell) recently co-directed the video to his astounding Radiohead Karma Police cover. And although the video works well and a visual vehicle it is his re-imagining of the song that sends shivers all over my earlobe. So far, Tree’s Karma Police is my favorite cover of 2013!

Check out the debut Demons EP is available on vinyl via Apollo and R&S Records. Peace.

Of Montreal – Wintered Debts

If I could take several specific paintings of Michael Hussar, a lock of Andre 3000’s hair, along with a few choice puffs of the Beatles’ Magic Mystery Tour album, place them in a cauldron, and wave Dumbledore’s wand over it, chanting, “Differences of habit and language are nothing at all if our aims are identical and our hearts are open.” What I suspect would materialize out of thin air would sound exactly like Of Montreal. Of Montreal has released another round of musical spells with Paralytic Stalks. I am more than a bit charmed. Peace.

“Wintered Debts” takes me places without atmospheres of turmoil.

“Id Engager” is so promiscuous, but I like my music that way.
