our sunday best: dustin tebbutt

Aussie song craftsman Dustin Tebbutt is new to me and although that isn’t necessarily a ringing endorsement it’s okay. Because once you listen to the music nothing else will matter anyway. His latest and forthcoming work will come to us in the form of the mini-album Home release. To date we have his study in all things tranquil and adulatory. Apt examples of such would be his Illuminate single and two splendid previous works: The Breach and Bones EPs. Continue reading “our sunday best: dustin tebbutt”

tame impala | let it happen

Tame Impala Press Photo

Tame Impala. How the boys from Perth, Australia rock the Casbah of my heart. And with their new track Let It Happen I am thrilled and mentally scattered like the refractions of a disco ball bouncing off of writhing bodies dripping sweat and liquor fueled. This song is here to groovy jam and dance the night away.

You can get Let It Happen free download here.

And look for the new album to drop KA-BOOM like soon. Peace.

fractures | fractures ep | won’t win | official video

Fractures (Mark Zito) delivers a sure hit with his latest Won’t Win.. The lead single, from the upcoming Fractures EP release, ebbs with tension which feels like a slight constriction about one’s heart. Surely, there is trouble in the kingdom of love. And as I watched the vid I noticed a lot of the frames are back-lit wit red (passion), green (jealousy) and blue (peace and tranquility). The subtext can be easily read as the color spectrum representation of human relationships. No? And get this, the Fractures EP drops July 4th, the day in the U.S where the literal fireworks fly. Is this all some sort of mad coincidence? No matter. Continue reading “fractures | fractures ep | won’t win | official video”

hayden james // hayden james ep

hayden james  //  hayden james ep

Hayden James will turn your ears out. It’s as simple as that. This Australian crooner serves it up hot and sticky with little room for resistance. Back in June he hit us hard with his Permission To Love joint, and even though its been several months since many have yet to recover. On his recently released and self-titled EP via Future Classic, the track Permission To Love is neatly packaged and scantily clad along side four additional lush tracks. Maybe its the coming Fall weather that has me stocking up on the slow and sensual jams. For playa’s and lovers alike know cold weather ’tis the season for snugglin’ and close quarter romance, right? And Hayden James is standard issue for undercover extracurricular “activities” and akin to throwing another log on the fire. Peace. Continue reading “hayden james // hayden james ep”

wordlife // breakthrough + small talk ep

wordlife  //  breakthrough + small talk ep

It’s Monday and since I don’t regularly imbibe in coffee-nated (made up words are my thang) beverages music often is the “thing” to get me going in too early hours of a new day. Check out the Aussie dj/producer combo wordlife and their blood revving Small Talk / Breakthrough EP. After the jump listen to the Doc Daneeka LGO Remix of Small Talk and shake sumpin’. Peace.

canyons // blame me

If your looking for a place where music seems to grow from the ground and into your brain like an invasive species of earwigs, then Australia is that place. Electronic music making duo the Canyons are serving up something special with their latest Pink Gin EP and it’s first single Blame Me. I love it and hopefully you will too. Peace. The “Blame Me” 12-inch is out right now, with the digital version to follow on July 30th via Club Mod. Peace. Continue reading “canyons // blame me”

movement // feel real

Great music from Sydney, Australia taking the physical form in the form the band MOVEMENT. They’re recently signed to Modular Records and the debut single Feel Real is all that and a bag of ganja. Good stuff for sure. But aside from the, “I’ll be your Romeo, you’ll be my Juliet,” reference (hey, no dying here), it’s all good. Peace. Continue reading “movement // feel real”
