Plugin Name: Distrify Embed
Plugin URI: http://support.distrify.com/customer/portal/articles/264106-how-do-i-embed-on-a-wordpress-blog-
Description: Extends WordPress's Embeds allowing bloggers to easily embed videos from Distrify. Just go to any Distrify film page or player and copy the URL. Paste that URL in any WordPress blog and it will automatically be converted to an embedded Distrify player. If you are logged in to distrify.com it will automatically add your affiliate tracking code to your embeds. Make sure you turn on Auto-embeds in your WP settings and also make sure that the URL is on its own line and not hyperlinked (clickable when viewing the post). The plugin also extracts the still image from the film and saves it as the Featured Image for the post. This actually works for any Embed (not just Distrify) that you embed into your WordPress blog.

La Luz always makes me want to pack up my shit and leave all other music behind. Makes me want to take an early retirement and get to chillin’ on a remote South American beach and drink San Miguel. And my adoration mostly has to do with the chill vibe (and mostly Shana Cleveland’s pale moon vocals) they collectively cast off. Recently the “ladies four” premiered a skulking-around-the-dark-edges track titled Believe My Eyes. And even though the track didn’t make it onto the band’s forthcoming Weirdo Shrines LP, its been dreaming of the light of day, and guess what? Well, it means that it’s rise and shine time for this hauntingly beautiful little number. Makes me happy. Continue reading “la luz | believe my eyes”
Young Rival adds a distinct rock edge to your summer playlist with their southern rock punk track Interior Light. This offering sounds like a mashup of The War On Drugs, The Strokes and Of Montreal. Not bad musical references if you ask me. The Interior Light single is out now courtesy of Paper Bag Records. Look for the album bearing the same name to drop October 16th. You can check out the track and track-list after the jump. Peace. Continue reading “young rival | interior light”
Damon Albarn, hey man its been a year and some change, and I am still inextricably in love with you, what gives? The Everyday Robots album is yet another maudlin gold standard for dark, moody and introspective brooding. From the title track Everyday Robots right on down to the very last song Heavy Seas of Love, this is a mellow ride that’s worth oft repeating. By the by, you’ll repeat Lonely Press Play more than a lil’ bit. Peace. Continue reading “damon albarn | everyday robots”
Deleted Scenes was a band but they called it quits just about a year ago and I miss them.
If you ever drank from the cups of sorrow and woe well into the night then these are the songs that’ll keep you sane. These are songs fit for raging and swinging your fists into the guilty seconds, minutes and hours. But these are also the songs that’ll becalm your white water pulse and allow you, to if not see reason, then to at least see your way through the night. I say check ’em out and get some Deleted Scenes into your life loving ears. You’ll be better off for it. Peace. Continue reading “deleted scenes | throwback thursday”
Tobias Jesso Jr. has penned a song which sounds like a mash-up of Otis Redding’s Dock of the Bay and George Michaels’ One More Try. But that’s just me. That isn’t to say I don’t like How Could You Babe because I most certainly do. How’s that for an endorsement? Continue reading “tobias jesso jr. | how could you babe”
Conor Oberst has been a favorite of mine for many a moon. Heck, who could resist his various incarnations. From the days of Bright Eyes and the intimately warm and fuzzy put him on the map video First Day Of My Life, which is still after all these years one of my favorite songs hands down. Continue reading “conor oberst | live on KEXP”
Perhaps it’s a tad audacious to pronounce Minneapolis-based transplant Chastity Brown as the purest of heart singer/songwriters to come to my attention in quite some time, but alas I do and I like her style… a lot! Continue reading “chastity brown | colorado”
Milwaukee-based music troupe Field Report have set my ears all aglow with their current release Marigolden, courtesy of Partisan Records. This time out
bandleader Chris Porterfield reminisces melodically about the inevitable tolls taken by the passage of time, and prolonged distance from home and loved ones. Continue reading “field report | marigolden lp”
tUnE-yArDs is Merrill Garbus and Nate Brenner. And they have gone and dropped some out-there optics in the form of a video for the track Real Thing. The song is taken from their current Nikki Nack LP (4AD Records).
