Plugin Name: Distrify Embed
Plugin URI: http://support.distrify.com/customer/portal/articles/264106-how-do-i-embed-on-a-wordpress-blog-
Description: Extends WordPress's Embeds allowing bloggers to easily embed videos from Distrify. Just go to any Distrify film page or player and copy the URL. Paste that URL in any WordPress blog and it will automatically be converted to an embedded Distrify player. If you are logged in to distrify.com it will automatically add your affiliate tracking code to your embeds. Make sure you turn on Auto-embeds in your WP settings and also make sure that the URL is on its own line and not hyperlinked (clickable when viewing the post). The plugin also extracts the still image from the film and saves it as the Featured Image for the post. This actually works for any Embed (not just Distrify) that you embed into your WordPress blog.

Japanese Breakfast has an endearing way of making quirky lo-fi dream pop that is often raucous, but at times soft and tender. Case in point the latter, the track In Heaven is soft around the edges like Robert Smith at his melancholy best. Continue reading “japanese breakfast | in heaven”
TEEN is a band manned with four future UN ambassadors for the of Island Fun! And while this may (or may not) be entirely a truism it rings as such. Teeny Lieberson and company have spun out (through not fault of their own) yet another wonderfully jollified diversion. The music this band puts out is multi-useful too. Say you’re one to worry about such mundane things as so-in-so liking you or the overdue mortgage. Well, this is the album you most assuredly need to drop the needle on muy pronto! And just so you know this album pairs incredibly well with a pint or two (ice cream or beer, your choice). The album Love Yes is out right this very moment via Carpark Records. Peace. Continue reading “teen | tokyo”
Sorority Noise are solidly east coasters hailing from good old Hartford, Connecticut. And obviously good old Hartford is a pretty good place to stare up an indie rock band. This winsome foursome dedecks their It Kindly Stopped For Me EP with introspective and thoughtful odes to the sour side of living. But it isn’t a bad thing, is it? The rawness and vulnerability of the songs reveal giving fragile hearts and a lovelorn of intimate proportions. Losing someone sucks eggs, but this collection of songs are a bit of catharsis, reached for and obtained, amid a sometimes life of shit. Peace. Continue reading “sorority noise | either way”
Sheep, Dog & Wolf (namely Daniel McBride) is one of those introspective lads who manage to maintain both an air of brillinacy and a sense of inventive and communicative higher-conscious musicianship. Yes, that’s doin’ a lot, but he does it to fine affect. I also want to add, that I am both dissappointed that I am just now discovreing him for the first, and I point an accusing finger at you for not pulling my shirt tail sooner. But faux accusations aside the two gems I have posted after the jump are a study in tonal perfection and eloquent composition. In short, a polyrhytmic delight bar none. The tracks Glare and Breathe were lifted from the SD&W’s debut offering Egospect out now courtesy of Lil’ Chief Records. And alas there is video too. Check out the THUNDERLIPS directed visuals and just BREATHE already. Peace. Continue reading “sheep, dog & wolf | glare | breathe”
The London project proudly bearing the acronym SAF (Sick As Fuck) is so worth our nostalgic attention as the lead band in our weekly Throwback Thursday feature. I long for them like a hungered man fresh out of meaningful and emotive sustenance. SAF doesn’t have a lot of material but the lil’ handful on material they created is goody goody gumdrops good. Check out the few tracks I culled from their diminutive cartulary. Peace. Continue reading “throwback thursday: saf”
Wolf Colony is one of those best kept secrets that’s hard not to share. WC isn’t widely known and that’s both okay and quite the conundrum. But as long as this anonymous NYC artist keeps meting out obscurely gorgeous sounds gems like Beauty and Brown Eyes then I’m good. Both tracks are taken from the Unmasked release which dropped earlier this year. I have included the Beauty lyrics below and the vid for Brown Eyes after the jump. Enjoy. Peace. Continue reading “wolf colony | unmasked”
The Florida outfit Copeland have a way of ingratiating within listeners a sense of longing and peace. Even if beyond your earbuds the world is falling apart you’ll find sufficient solace in their down tempo arias. And if music is indeed a refuge then the Ixora Twin release is a purring, soft-edged and low-lit ambulance come to ferry our damaged remains to a place of other worldly bliss.
For more, gather your legion of emotions and lay them at the forgiving feet of every song on this album. For Copeland fans, and anyone else in need of a beautiful bomb shelter, check out Copeland’s amazing Ixora Twin release for it just might change your world.
This isn’t necessarily a throwback post (kinda sorta is though), more like a gentle nudge towards a life preserver you never though you’d ever need. Peace. Continue reading “copeland | ixora twin”
twenty one pilots | tear in my heart | soysauce remix
Twenty One Pilots pretty much occupied the top spot on innumerable playlists this summer, no? But with the Tear In My Heart (SoySauce Remix) the top spot is pretty much cemented as one of the most memorable tracks of the year. Or at least I think so. And if you haven’t already check out Twenty One Pilots’ Blurryface LP do so, it’s out now courtesy of Fueled By Ramen. Enjoy. Peace. Continue reading “twenty one pilots | tear in my heart | soysauce remix”
Kwamie Liv sets fire to the night sky with her latest track Pleasure This Pain feat. Angel Haze. This isn’t for the faint of heart, no puppy love ish here. And for those who bare the wounds of love lost, love found and love won will feel right at home inside this groove. This one is like pushing a big body Cadillac out into the furthest reaches of night driving therapy. Pleasure This Pain is the heart stuff love is made of. Peace. Continue reading “kwamie liv | pleasure this pain feat. angel haze”
Computer Magic drops the new single Be Fair and it bristles and shimmers like only Computer Magic can. Claudius Mittendorfer handled production duties and my ear, well they handled the chillin’ like a villain duties. The track is one of many from the debut Davos LP out October 16th courtesy of Channel 9 Records / Kolbalt. Peace. Continue reading “computer magic | be fair”
