Hot Chip is well known for conjuring up inventive and highly dance worthy musical fare. And let’s be honest its been a minute since the boys from London graced our ears with a beat or two. Well wait no more with a new album underway there is hope yet the summer isn’t going to be a total wash. Below take a listen and sing along to Burning Up the new single lifted from Hot Chip’s forthcoming Why Make Sense? I love this song because is has a chill manner like my cat Reginald but I don’t have to empty the litter box. Yes, I am weird but this song definitely isn’t. Welcome back Mr. Goddard. Peace. far out magazine | childhood | rosa brook

“The wonderment of spontaneity and serendipitous findings are rife with both good and bad stuff, but the good stuff prevails.”

So, I’m tweeting, as I am want to do. All pliant and dextrous fingers doing what the brain bids then. Eyes taking it all in, searching fervently for a cool bit of cool to share. I am determined and in the end a very lucky “sum bitch”. Continue reading “far out magazine | childhood | rosa brook”

jade hopcroft | leave you alone

When Jade Hopcroft opens up her mouth take cover! With her latest Leave You Alone she let’s fly with such irresistible and succulent shrapnel. Her lyrics are double-edged too, for they eviscerate those with an inability to resist such beauty. But Ms. Hopcroft also reveals her vulnerabilities meted out in degrees of magic spell and infinite fragility, and if that isn’t the moon upon a stick then I shan’t tell you what is. Peace. theoish & maeve | popcorn owls

Mythical producer Theoish refracts London-based artist Maeve Moayedi‘s vocals into one of the most endearing songs EVER! The track Popcorn Owls comes at you like the gently lapping tongue of Lady Rainicorn. 좋은 물건. Yes, I just used a Adventure Time reference to describe a song. GENIUS!

The song was given to me like a gift from my magical muse Ms. Stavee. Thank you darlin’. Peace. Continue reading “theoish & maeve | popcorn owls”

cloud boat | model of you | our sunday best

A cathedral of sound where within a soul can finally know rest.

Cloud Boat is a duo of two (Sam Ricketts & Tom Clarke), but they bring together the pieces of countless souls. Tom Clarke has a voice chiseled from the light just reaching us after light years of travel. His is a voice alive with dead things. It is the relic of hope and fear, it is a sweet drop of sound which enters our collective ears and ignites the spark of life. A sound particle on which the first steps of resilience are built Continue reading “cloud boat | model of you | our sunday best”

In life there is both light and darkness. Where you chose to dwell is up to you. But admittedly at times we lose our way trying to make it through the labyrinth of our existence. Check out her Framework EP via Quatre Femmes Records and find comfort and security (at least whilst the music plays) in this quadlection (made up word) of intimate songs. Peace.
