Plugin Name: Distrify Embed
Plugin URI: http://support.distrify.com/customer/portal/articles/264106-how-do-i-embed-on-a-wordpress-blog-
Description: Extends WordPress's Embeds allowing bloggers to easily embed videos from Distrify. Just go to any Distrify film page or player and copy the URL. Paste that URL in any WordPress blog and it will automatically be converted to an embedded Distrify player. If you are logged in to distrify.com it will automatically add your affiliate tracking code to your embeds. Make sure you turn on Auto-embeds in your WP settings and also make sure that the URL is on its own line and not hyperlinked (clickable when viewing the post). The plugin also extracts the still image from the film and saves it as the Featured Image for the post. This actually works for any Embed (not just Distrify) that you embed into your WordPress blog.

What’s up with Junip? Well, they’re gearing up for their fall tour and are eager to see you out and about at their shows! First, check out the new video for their single Walking Lightly here. The video for Walking Lightly was directed by Fredrik Egerstrand who you might recognize from his documentary The Extraordinary Ordinary Life of José González. Beautiful and simple, the video let’s the band’s beautiful melodies and José’s vocals shine through without any interruptions.
The single Walking Lightly will be available on September 17th, via Mute featuring remixes from electronic producer John Roberts, Tobacco, To Rococo Rot, Maps and others. For complete tracklisting after the jump. Continue reading “junip // walking lightly”
Shot in sun drenched Spain and directed by Alan Masferrer, the video perfectly captures the dreamy summery mood of A.M.A..
A.M.A. is out now on limited edition Rough Trade 12” and download, with remixes from the Norwegian songwriter Susanne Sundfør who has collaborated previously with MAPS and recently featured on the M83 soundtrack for the film Oblivion; Dutch electronic artist Legowelt and fellow Mercury nominees The Invisible alongside a remix from MAPS himself.
The latest LP Vicissitude focuses, tightens and sharpens MAPS’ expansive sound. The album might have been born from a long period of self-contemplation, but maybe you do need a while to get simple answers to the difficult questions. Time to face the light. Peace.
The second release Your Life, Your Call from upcoming self-titled Junip album, out this Spring via City Slang in Europe and courtesy of Mute Records in North America (April 22, 2013). Beth Jeans Houghton is a bright star cresting the musical horizon. In a world overrun with cookie cutter acts, hers is reason enough to smile and turn up the volume. However, Beth Jeans Houghton & The Hooves of Destiny break out, or rather shatter any would be mold, thus delivering music that is any thing but run-of-the-mill or boring. Like a freshened breeze of opium mist Ms. H and her Hooves of D send listeners swooning. And so it is with her latest video for the song, “Atlas.” Most say the Juan Iglesias directed video is about change, it looks to be something wholly, er, different to me. The video co-stars Brenda King, and depicts, or rather suggests illicit shenanigans aplenty. Watch it and tell me what you think. Also, be on the look out for the forthcoming debut album Yours Truly, Cellophane Nose (April 23rd) from which the song “Atlas” is taken. Peace. Today, and perhaps most days, could use a bit of what José González is putting out into the universe for our ears to digest like sugared-sorrow and humble pie. Yes, José González music is the epitome of sweetness and light, and with a voice like the spent ashes of embers wafting on the exhalations of tenebrous sullen mood, it’s easy to see, and hear why so folks warm themselves before his solar flame. With the song, “Cycling Trivialities” it is smoky folk fare with the soul of a dour canticle, but perhaps it always a call to break out of a rut and wake to the act letting go of the petty and spread the energy of love all around. Well, that’s my two-cents for all it is worth. I’ll shut my face now, enjoy the music. Peace. Continue reading “José González // Cycling Trivialities (Our Sunday Best)”
I think we can all agree that there is nothing wrong with consistency, right? When you look back (and listen) to the catalog of M83 needless to say its pretty impressive. Continue reading “M83 – Hurry Up, We’re Dreaming”
