kwamie liv | pleasure this pain feat. angel haze

Kwamie Liv sets fire to the night sky with her latest track Pleasure This Pain feat. Angel Haze. This isn’t for the faint of heart, no puppy love ish here. And for those who bare the wounds of love lost, love found and love won will feel right at home inside this groove. This one is like pushing a big body Cadillac out into the furthest reaches of night driving therapy. Pleasure This Pain is the heart stuff love is made of. Peace. jmr | shivers

Damn JMR (Joshua Michael Robinson)! The track Shiver is a mercurial wind; at once hot, then cold. This is diamond beads of salty sweat threaded through with sweet silken seconds…

And WHOA! Beware the second hand, for seconds mount and coalesce into the heavier minutes and sturdy hours of lovemaking. or mayhap a fistful-of-hair-quickie. This track is the gasoline tossed upon two bodies bursting into shivering flame. Run this shit. Flashback Fridays just got very … um… heated. Peace. Continue reading “jmr | shivers”

basecamp | watch my back

Basecamp consits of Aaron Miller, Aaron C. Harmon and Jordan Reyes and together they one of my favorite music production teams. Hailing from Nashville (I know right) this team of talented musicians, songwriters and producers do music so right it glistens like a lingering kiss. With the first single Watch My Back from their forthcoming Greater Than EP it looks (read sounds) like they’re laying another winner upon our greedy ears. The Greater Thank EP drops August 21st via OWSLA. You can listen and Pre-Order after the jump. Peace. Continue reading “basecamp | watch my back”

james vincent mcmorrow | how to waste a moment

James Vincent McMorrow drops new material out of nowhere with the scintillating track How To Waste A Moment. Mr. Mc continues his thread of alt R&B and it suits me just fine. Hopefully this signals there is a new release coming soon. Hell, I am still reeling from Post Tropical. But more is always better, especially if its coming from this talented Irishman. Oh and if you can, then most certainly do yourself a favor and catch JVM live. James is out on tour now, check for tour dates after the jump. Peace. jmsn | jmsn | the blue album

Detroit-birthed, LA-based producer and singer-songwriter JMSN hangs his proverbial hat astutely on gravitas: Mr. Berishaj respects the legacy of what Soul music is and ought to be. What else can one say? And with his debut tour de force The Blue Album, well, it awaits in the green room for an introduction. And yes, you’ll become very well acquainted.

This one has a mind of it’s own. It will push up on you like aggressive honeyed kisses, leaving bruises in all the right places and your breath will be nowhere to be found. But the erogenous zones it is most adept at satisfying are the yearning curlicues of your ears. And, as we all know the ears are the windows to the soulverse. Yep, I said it. So, Whatever you do don’t you dare sleep on this one. Trust. Peace. Continue reading “jmsn | jmsn | the blue album”

caroline smith | half about being a woman lp

Caroline Smith
will take your heart and break it, mend it and send you on your merry way smiling like a fool. Ms. Smith does something with words and music which comes naturally and seemingly effortless, yet we know it isn’t either. But, it is her slight of voice and deft cleft notes that not only entertain our ears, but makes us lean in closer.

Her album Half About Being A Woman is a gut check for anyone, Doubting Thomases and otherwise, whomever rolled eyes or twisted collective lips at Ms. Smith’s change up from Folksy torch bearer to a decidedly R&B earthen funk delivery system. fyfe | holding on |

Fyfe Media Photo

The music of Fyfe makes mine chambered heart-cup runneth over with the burnished high emotions of amore. The track, Holding On is the perfect Hump Day song, if my drift is received and channeled with the correct overheated frequency. I blush.

The track Holding On is being released worldwide tomorrow, and I will provide updates on how you can get your mitts all over it. Peace. Continue reading “fyfe | holding on |”

elijah blake | strange fruit | video premiere

“We’ve been talking too long. So baby what is you on? You say you’ve got a man at home.
But you can’t fight what you don’t know. If you ’bout it, I’ll be over there tonight
You can ride it, and I’ma make love to your mind. While I fuck you tonight…”

Elijah Blake is so kinda’ hot right now! And there are several good reasons to utter such ballsy proclamations. Give Me U, Mornin’ After and Strange Fruit are all above par examples of why Mr. Blake’s debut Drift EP release, courtesy of (C) 2014 Def Jam Recordings, is currently one of the hottest downloads right now. And really, there is no reason why you can’t have the good stuff too. Psst! Watch the video premiere of “Strange Fruit,” then check out the track Give Me U after the jump. Peace. Continue reading “elijah blake | strange fruit | video premiere”
