Plugin Name: Distrify Embed
Plugin URI: http://support.distrify.com/customer/portal/articles/264106-how-do-i-embed-on-a-wordpress-blog-
Description: Extends WordPress's Embeds allowing bloggers to easily embed videos from Distrify. Just go to any Distrify film page or player and copy the URL. Paste that URL in any WordPress blog and it will automatically be converted to an embedded Distrify player. If you are logged in to distrify.com it will automatically add your affiliate tracking code to your embeds. Make sure you turn on Auto-embeds in your WP settings and also make sure that the URL is on its own line and not hyperlinked (clickable when viewing the post). The plugin also extracts the still image from the film and saves it as the Featured Image for the post. This actually works for any Embed (not just Distrify) that you embed into your WordPress blog.

Twenty One Pilots pretty much occupied the top spot on innumerable playlists this summer, no? But with the Tear In My Heart (SoySauce Remix) the top spot is pretty much cemented as one of the most memorable tracks of the year. Or at least I think so. And if you haven’t already check out Twenty One Pilots’ Blurryface LP do so, it’s out now courtesy of Fueled By Ramen. Enjoy. Peace.

Lyrics:
Let me down easy
Though your love for me is gone
Let me down easy
Since you feel that staying is wrong?
We are broken by others
But we mend ourselves
We take comfort in strangers
But I don’t think it helps
If every fool were a clown
I would be a king and not a clown
Cause love can’t?
Closer than our hands and our feet
But it’s lost on me
Oh oh
It’s lost on me
Your love for me is wrong
Let me down easy
since you feel that staying is wrong?
There was no sweeter fruit than this
With no taste of bitterness
It was so fresh and sweet before
But I can’t taste it anymore
I was like a man with no candy?
I had everything
But as long as?
Your love for me is wrong
Let me down easy
Your love for me is gone
Let me down easy
Since you feel that staying is wrong?
On a better day
we’d be waiting on our corner
Selling dreams of redemption
But this time you’ve gone your way
So I’ll go mine
Out of sight, out of love, out of time
Your love for me is wrong
Let me down easy
Your love for me is gone
Let me down easy
Since you feel that staying is wrong?
Let me down easy

Mimicking Birds opens up a main vein and let’s the essence of audible offerings out. We’re thankful as Sunday parishioners for the track Bloodlines. This song is of such character it’ll manage subtle slights of hand and leaves you wanting to visit often to unravel it’s tricks. But there aren’t any charades here, the music just surrounds you in feelings seldom unleashed. The track Owl Hoots is a flourish of breath stealing vapor and I am enamored like a certain Montague sweet on a beauteous Capulet.
Check out the band’s Eon album out now via Glacial Pace Records. Currently, the band is on tour with Modest Mouse and mayhap you can catch ’em. Peace.

The post I Was There: The Shelter, Detroit, Michigan | Kitten appeared first on The Earology Dept..
]]>Present day. When? July 1, 2014. Where? The Shelter. Detroit, Michigan. Kitten is currently on their first headlining tour. From the very first notes I watched as Kitten’s (Chloe Chaidez) took to the stage and transformed the otherwise nondescript surroundings into her own personal space. Instantly, I was transported back to a dingy bathroom a year ago, we were close again. Close, because when Chloe performs the music has a way of stripping away the distance and enveloping listeners in her aura and pulling you in.
Chloe isn’t quite 20-years old yet, but she holds her own. Her Shelter set was flawless, moving from one song to the next seamlessly. At one point she took up the drums and beat them like some wild primal princess. Talk about SEX-SY! I watched too her rock star antics, as she climbed to the rafters. So badass. Chloe is something to behold and she without a doubt knows what she is doing. Being on stage, she’s in her element much like some mythical Valkyrie/Siren hybrid wielding her power of seduction with little effort. And when she launched in my fav song, Cut It Out, she killed me ever so softly. Right through the heart. SPEECHLESS!
There is an actualization which takes place here, Chloe has been honing her musical craftwomanship since she was a preteen. It is more than evident she’s not only talented, but she’s a natural. Her music, on record or during a live set, does not show signs of the awkwardness, indirection, immaturity, or lack of self-confidence you’d expect from someone her age. At 19 Chloe knows what she’s about, and it’s beyond beautiful.
After the show (with the song Why I Wait floating in my heart) Chloe hung out at the merch table graciously thanking fans. I stopped by and picked up the newly released self-titled Kitten album (which is awesome and has a very airy, 80’s pop feel to it). After plying her with kind words she signed the things I purchased, and then we took a selfie together. #awesome #imhuggingchloe #fangirlingsohard

Like I said earlier, it is one thing to listen to an artist’s music on a pre-recorded mp3, cd, etc., but quite another thing to see, hear and interact with someone like Kitten live. It does something to a girl and immediately my emotions got invested for the long haul. The band name Kitten is a bit of a misnomer though, because kittens are docile and cute. This brand of Kitten is anything but, Chloe is fierce and tenacious. Kitten forever! Corny I know, but whatevs. Crushes are like that. Corny. Silly. And at times totally unrealistic. But still they feel good.
So, this is how fans are made. I am not quite groupie status yet, but damn I could be. Who knows what the future holds?
Get with it, or go without. Don’t regret it.
