Plugin Name: Distrify Embed
Plugin URI: http://support.distrify.com/customer/portal/articles/264106-how-do-i-embed-on-a-wordpress-blog-
Description: Extends WordPress's Embeds allowing bloggers to easily embed videos from Distrify. Just go to any Distrify film page or player and copy the URL. Paste that URL in any WordPress blog and it will automatically be converted to an embedded Distrify player. If you are logged in to distrify.com it will automatically add your affiliate tracking code to your embeds. Make sure you turn on Auto-embeds in your WP settings and also make sure that the URL is on its own line and not hyperlinked (clickable when viewing the post). The plugin also extracts the still image from the film and saves it as the Featured Image for the post. This actually works for any Embed (not just Distrify) that you embed into your WordPress blog.

The Drums throws new optics in the air with the video for There Is Nothing Left. The official video was directed by the handily adept and wondrously talented team of David Gantz + Theo Cohn. The video co-stars trans-queer cultural goddess Hari Neff. But a hairy creeper, wine guzzling, vampireesque, Flashdance channeling Sasquatch kinda steals the show. Such an odd and sweetly violent metaphorical turn for sure. My eyes were left scratching their collective head. The track There Is Nothing Left hails from The Drums’ Encyclopedia (2014) release, out now courtesy of Minor Records. That’s all I got. Peace.

]]>Jon Philpot, Joe Stickney, and Adam Wills make up the Brooklyn-based trio Bear In Heaven, and indeed their irascible brand of Pop has marked out acreage in Shangri-La. Play their single “The Refection Of You” and reaffirm your belief in a better place (While your still living, that is), even if that place exists whilst your listing to Bear In Heaven. Check out their label RCRD LBL for free downloads. And, be on the lookout for their forthcoming LP I Love You, It’s Cool, due for release April 3rd. But if you can’t wait until the release date, these practical jokers (Emphasis on jokers) are streaming the whole album on their website bearinheaven.com. I warned you. Peace.

]]>The album Watered Lawns opens with, “The Air” and within minutes you know you’re in a good place. The Music of Raleigh Moncrief is populated with cotton candy raindrops and beautiful music on the breeze, much like a music box high on its own supply. The song “I Just Saw,” possesses a lushness which pairs well, or at least equals what one feels when looking at Peter Paul Rubens’ The Hermit and the Sleeping Angelica, that, or being stupefied by the latest Victoria Secret’s ad, you pick.
Raleigh Moncrief has until recently been one of those shadowy figures chillin’ in the background, but now he offers something wholly original and enchanting. RM’s acumen as an engineer isn’t to be dismissed, his work on the Dirty Projectors’ Bitte Orca, is well-noted. But now, Mr. Moncrief is stepping out of the shadows and into the light of day, and the results are seductively dope. Peace.
I also posted a remix “In This Grass” (Deerhoof John Dieterich Ft. Busdriver) and all I will say is, I hope you brought your wetsuit. I’m out.

]]>This post is dedicated to the young woman I met down at the bus station this evening. We got to talking about music and eventually I asked the question, “Who’s your favorite band?” Before she answered she kind of rolled her eyes heavenward mulling it over, then said, “Foster The People.” And even thought Mark Foster, Mark Pontius and Cubbie Fink of FTP have had a very big year already with the debut of their full-length LP Torches. With this posting I am going to make it even bigger (and special) by posting “Helena Beat” for a fan. This is my way of paying homage to the random strangers one meets, and whom after just a few minutes don’t seem so strange after the exchange of a few kind words. Peace.
