Embeds allowing bloggers to easily embed videos from Distrify. Just go to any Distrify film page or player and copy the URL. Paste that URL in any WordPress blog and it will automatically be converted to an embedded Distrify player. If you are logged in to distrify.com it will automatically add your affiliate tracking code to your embeds. Make sure you turn on Auto-embeds in your WP settings and also make sure that the URL is on its own line and not hyperlinked (clickable when viewing the post). The plugin also extracts the still image from the film and saves it as the Featured Image for the post. This actually works for any Embed (not just Distrify) that you embed into your WordPress blog. Space Flakes have been laying low for a long minute, and now I know what they’ve been up to. I suspect in their public absence they have been busy gathering new material. A bit of star dust here and a little magic there. Musicians are alchemists of sorts, turning sound into pure gold.

The production duo comprised of Sjaak Kassies and Mark Stahli are masters at crafting dynamic and propulsive music. Music which understands you more than you understand it. Their latest, Stage The Stage is a perfect example of what they do best. So, let the music play. Peace.

The Alexanders are super producers Yuksek (Pierre-Alexandre Busson of France) and Alex Metric (reppin’ the U to the K). Yuksek via his newly minted PartyFine label has a lot to crow about and has been building a loads of buzz. You can expect bunches of great music from his roster too, which includes The Magician, Crayon, Villa and of course the Yuksek himself.

Then there is Alex Metric, who is quite the accomplished dj/producer/god of sound, etc. has been filling dance floors and headphones for quite a longish time. He’s recently penned a deal with Skrillex’s OWSLA label, and his stock has only risen mellifluously to the stars.

Their debut EP Don’t Miss just dropped via PartyFine and features the beautiful vocals of Australian ingenue Anna Lunoe. Peace.

Back from a seemingly endless void, we can finally drop to our collective knees and say, “Thank you!” For those familiar, Xiu Xiu is a band, but to me its the metaphorical maladjusted step-child from the dark uncomfortable regions of your psyche. The neighbors in your mind will shun him, and try desperately to keep their own pristine children away. But unbeknownst, those overly clean children will gravitate towards him. Not because he is cool, but because he’s interesting, and tells the most wonderful stories. Yes, he’s slightly damaged, but wondrously resilient and resolves to never play the victim. He corals them one and all, and out into the world they go. He leads them into the darker parts of town. He learns their secrets and shares his as well. Each child learns things they should never be privy to, and divulge family secrets never previously told. Into the wide wilds of the underworld they trail tears and laughter, and he plies them with nothing more than daring. His arm about a shoulder, gives them song enough to house their pain and lift their chins to the sky. This is the world of Xiu Xiu and the long-awaited album Always will soon be among us, to light up everything. And make us uncomfortably curious for more. Peace.

Purity Ring - Loftcries

I’m in a bit of a mood. A mood more akin to lighting candles and getting the massage oil all warm and NOT watching reruns of The Office. Can you blame me? The NYC duo Purity Ring can have that kind of affect on you. Especially when spinning their track “Loftcries”. This track showcases singer  Megan James’ seductively gossamer voice, draped adoringly over Corin Roddick’s other-worldly-synths, which are brain numbingly hypnotic. I pulled this one out of the vault. Can you blame me? Because in Michigan when the temperature drops what better way to warm up the ear drums. Peace.
