Plugin Name: Distrify Embed
Plugin URI: http://support.distrify.com/customer/portal/articles/264106-how-do-i-embed-on-a-wordpress-blog-
Description: Extends WordPress's Embeds allowing bloggers to easily embed videos from Distrify. Just go to any Distrify film page or player and copy the URL. Paste that URL in any WordPress blog and it will automatically be converted to an embedded Distrify player. If you are logged in to distrify.com it will automatically add your affiliate tracking code to your embeds. Make sure you turn on Auto-embeds in your WP settings and also make sure that the URL is on its own line and not hyperlinked (clickable when viewing the post). The plugin also extracts the still image from the film and saves it as the Featured Image for the post. This actually works for any Embed (not just Distrify) that you embed into your WordPress blog.

The music made by The Lighthouse And The Whaler makes you care about it, even if you didn’t want to. This Cleveland, Ohio band is a 5-piece ensemble, and every single song I’ve heard thus far sounds like something unexplored, yet familiar. These songs sound like baking bread, or the muted colors burnt and radiant spilling forth from a spectacular sunset. These guys make music like a sighing lover exhaling your name, and all the while trailing warm breath across your breastbone. Yes, this is sweetness and light territory for sure. I listened to their songs, “White Days”, “Window”, and “Of The Heavens And The Earth” and I found myself not wanting to leave them alone. I got lost within these melodies. I was comfortable and I didn’t want to venture anywhere else. Their latest single, “Burst Apart” moves across your earlobe like a minnow, it tickles and it is innocent of the knowledge of darker things to come. TLATW‘s forthcoming Pioneers EP is scheduled for a March 13th release and you can pre-order it at www.thelighthouseandthewhaler.com. And surely you didn’t think the only good things in Cleveland was the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and the Hot Dog Diner & Burger Co? Shame on you. Peace.

And to give you an idea of how down to earth and earnest Aaron Smith, Mark Porostosky, Steve Diaz and the brothers LoPresti (Matthew and Michael) are, check out the trailer for the documentary. Enjoy.

Many a band have harkened and took heed, following the advice to “head west” in pursuit of tranquil and inspiring environs in which to perfect or inspire their song craft. Cleveland’s Dylan Baldi is no exception, he and the other able bodied boys of Cloud Nothing headed at least north-west, and not as far westward as one would think. Hey, no one ever said how far west, right? The band sojourned to Chicago to create their forthcoming LP Attack On Memory. And according to several reviews, it was 5 hrs and 47 minutes of traveling well spent. According to Insound you can expect, “higher fidelity, a track clocking in at almost nine minutes, an instrumental, and an overall more plaintive air.” Sounds good to me. , For sampling we’ve got the lead track “No Future/No Past” and “Stay Useless,” below. Peace.

Click below and rock out by way of the Cleveland band Mr. Gnome. This duo, comprised of burnt honey voiced guitarist Nicole Barille and drummer-pianist Sam Meister is a force to be reckoned with for damn sure. Check out their track “House of Circles” from their LP Madness in Miniature and get a taste of the grittiness wrought by the badass twosome from the City of Bridges. Want more? You can listen to Mr. Gnome‘s song “Watch The City Sail Away” and get a free download at Rollingstone.com or at their Facebook fanpage. Peace.
