Plugin Name: Distrify Embed
Plugin URI: http://support.distrify.com/customer/portal/articles/264106-how-do-i-embed-on-a-wordpress-blog-
Description: Extends WordPress's Embeds allowing bloggers to easily embed videos from Distrify. Just go to any Distrify film page or player and copy the URL. Paste that URL in any WordPress blog and it will automatically be converted to an embedded Distrify player. If you are logged in to distrify.com it will automatically add your affiliate tracking code to your embeds. Make sure you turn on Auto-embeds in your WP settings and also make sure that the URL is on its own line and not hyperlinked (clickable when viewing the post). The plugin also extracts the still image from the film and saves it as the Featured Image for the post. This actually works for any Embed (not just Distrify) that you embed into your WordPress blog.

James Blake dropped his latest single Modern Soul and if you have any reservations about whether or not he’s still got the goods, well doubt no more. Not unlike any of Mr. B’s previous output this one too is heavy on the tranquil and beautifully subdued. Check it out below and stay tunes for news of a possible 2016 release. Peace.

James Blake, Modern Soul: Lyrics
I know a crossroads where I see them, see them
I want it to be over, I want it to be over
So I swim to you while I’m sleeping
Through sage green rivers of England
I see the scenery changes, changes
I want it to be over, I want it to be over
When I don’t think of you, the willpower
What I didn’t see was I was talking to so many people at once
I had no idea I was
I had no idea of the difference between
The way I saw your face and the way it was
Because of a few songs (x8)
I remember laughing; to take that away from you
To take that away from you; I remember laughing
I remember laughing; to take that away from you
To take that away from you; I remember laughing
The smaller the waves; you let me down
The longer I will defend you
The smaller the waves; you let me down
The longer I will defend you (because of a few songs)
I want it to be over, I want it to be over (x3)
I know a crossroads where I see them, see them
I want it to be over, I want it to be over (x3)

]]>So, I’m tweeting, as I am want to do. All pliant and dextrous fingers doing what the brain bids then. Eyes taking it all in, searching fervently for a cool bit of cool to share. I am determined and in the end a very lucky “sum bitch”.
The absolute synergy of the act of tweeting yields this:
Apparently, some obvious cool and anonymous somebody @ Far Out Magazine starts following The Earology Dept, as they most certainly should. And as proper Twitter etiquette (and plain good manners) dictate I naturally “Follow back”.
Now, here comes the good and fluky part. My curious fingers hustle me over to Far Out Magazine. I pleased as spiked punch because FAM covers music, and well I like music (understatement). Not only do these fine Brits do music thing, but alas they do it very well, or so my ears inform moi.
Back story. My ears are happiest when given the chance to discover and taste new music. And whilst sampling from the FOM aural buffet these faithful ears on mine chanced upon the track Blue Velvet by the London-based band Childhood. The band of four dropped their Lacuna album recently courtesy of Marathon Artists. Although the song Blue Velvet was my initial brush I am currently crushing hard on their sensuous track Falls Away (check it out below, down further… oh yesss that’s it… right there!).
Artist: Childhood
Album:
Order: iTunes
Tracklisting:
1. Blue Velvet
2. You Could Be Different
3. As I Am
4. Right Beneath Me
5. Falls Away
6. Sweeter Preacher
7. Tides
8. Solemn Skies
9. Chiliad
10. Pay For Cool
11. When You Rise
12. Just Floating
13. Pinballs
14. Haltija
There’s more. So I am thinking to myself. “Self. You’re a smart self and wouldn’t it be cool if you checked out Childhood’s Facebook fan page?” When the I that is me aligns with the self which is also me, then self does it’s best work. Over at Childhood’s FB page the fine gents had on display for all the free world to see (the Chinese citizenry are so missing out) the track by Fell by newbie Rosa Brooks. Instant loveship!
So, all in all, a pretty good day. Peace.

]]>I’m over thinking things
Before it’s all begun
You don’t make it easy on me
Is this your ideal of fun?
You’re holding back
Could you let the blood just run?
I keep wearing thin
You keep scratching at my skin
Why can’t I leave you alone
You need me the same
I’ll play all your little games
‘Cause I can’t leave you alone
Do you want to confess?
Do you find it hard to sleep?
Do I have this affect on you?
Are you struggling to breathe?
But I won’t make this easy on you
I can’t let you just leave
I keep wearing thin
You keep scratching at my skin
Why I can’t I leave you alone
You need me the same
I’ll play all your little games
“Cause I can’t leave you alone
Will I always need?
Always see you around?
I could take it on
Every fault but I couldn’t leave you now
(2x)
I keep wearing thin
You keep scratching at my skin
Why I can’t I leave you alone
You need me the same
I’ll play all your little games
“Cause I can’t leave you alone.

]]>Cloud Boat is a duo of two (Sam Ricketts & Tom Clarke), but they bring together the pieces of countless souls. Tom Clarke has a voice chiseled from the light just reaching us after light years of travel. His is a voice alive with dead things. It is the relic of hope and fear, it is a sweet drop of sound which enters our collective ears and ignites the spark of life. A sound particle on which the first steps of resilience are built

Cloud Boat, Model Of You, Tracklisting:
01. Prelude
02. Hideaway
03. Carmine
04. Portraits of Eyes
05. Bricks Are For
06. The Glow
07. Golden Lights
08. Aurelia
09. Thoughts In Mine
10. Told You
11. All of My Years
12. Hallow
The duos sophomore album Model Of You emanates with songs which appear light and gossamer, but in reality are laden with the heavy stuff of our human experiences. The trick is, they make the weighty and fissured cross of anxiety and mental disarray bearable. Head over to NPR’s First Listen to check out the Model Of You in it’s entirety. However, after the jump hear a glimpse, the songs Hideaway and the Smith’s cover, Please, Please, Please Let Me Get What I Want Tonight are imbued with séance and restrained melancholy. Peace.
