Embeds allowing bloggers to easily embed videos from Distrify. Just go to any Distrify film page or player and copy the URL. Paste that URL in any WordPress blog and it will automatically be converted to an embedded Distrify player. If you are logged in to distrify.com it will automatically add your affiliate tracking code to your embeds. Make sure you turn on Auto-embeds in your WP settings and also make sure that the URL is on its own line and not hyperlinked (clickable when viewing the post). The plugin also extracts the still image from the film and saves it as the Featured Image for the post. This actually works for any Embed (not just Distrify) that you embed into your WordPress blog. Sufjan Stevens does things his way and you gotta admire a man who doesn’t rush or make new music just for the sake of commercial interest or to stroke his ego.

Yes. It has been five years since Sufjan fans have had new music from one of the best modern singer/songwriters creating music today. So for me news of the soon to come Carrie & Lowell release has lifted my spirits like a spirited church hymnal.

To date we’ve only been privy to the tracks Should Have Known Better and No Shade In The Shadow of the Cross, both are rife with classic Sufjan treatments: spare sobriety laced with ample tranquility. The latter of the two tracks is riddled with more angst and allegory, and the former deals us blushes of regret and enduring fortitude.

Both tracks are fine examples of the undeniable prowess of Sufjan Stevens. Indeed we will be listening, marveling and deciphering these gorgeous songs for years to come. How many times have we wrestled with and discovered truth, at times difficult truths, bathed within a Sufjan ode? Countless.

Some of my favorite songs like Damascus and The Dress Looks Nice On You or the brutal and horrifically beautiful John Wayne Gacy, Jr both shatter and illuminate. And with Carrie & Lowell I can’t wait to discover myself laid bare in the modern, old-timey and Gospel-esque wakes and eddies of a Sufjan Stevens song. Peace.
