Embeds allowing bloggers to easily embed videos from Distrify. Just go to any Distrify film page or player and copy the URL. Paste that URL in any WordPress blog and it will automatically be converted to an embedded Distrify player. If you are logged in to distrify.com it will automatically add your affiliate tracking code to your embeds. Make sure you turn on Auto-embeds in your WP settings and also make sure that the URL is on its own line and not hyperlinked (clickable when viewing the post). The plugin also extracts the still image from the film and saves it as the Featured Image for the post. This actually works for any Embed (not just Distrify) that you embed into your WordPress blog. Natalie Prass is a Nashville-based singer/songwriter who has not only matured into a strong presence on the indie music scene. But, the constancy of her ability to eviscerate a listener’s emotions to smithereens is still very much front and center.

The opening track My Baby Don’t Understand Me, begins with a sharp inhalation of breath. A doleful fulcrum wherein one separates into two, and thus the delicate fare-thee-well sigh. A sigh both freeing and filled with reluctant exasperation. And it’s this kind of poignant, unexpected and organic treatment which provides the tinder for the subtle gut-fire which spreads throughout the ventricles of this smouldering heart song.

And when she sings, “Our love is like a long good-bye, we keep waiting for the train to cry,”  the drawn out enunciation of the word “cry,” is akin to the opening of a jeweled box of shimmering gold.

This track has so many sweet layer-cake embellishments: the gospel tinged piano, the weeping strings, the heralding Gabriel-esque horns and twangy guitar work. But the most accomplished instrumentation remains Natalie’s incredible and pristine voice. Natalie’s vocals exist as the centerpiece from which all else beautifully orbits. For without this voice, her voice, the accompanying instruments would be nothing more than falling rocks and tumbleweed inside a eyeless dust bowl.

Yes, I am beyond enamored. And you can be too. Do your ears a favor and Pre-order here.

My Baby Don’t Understand Me is taken from Natalie Prass’ self-titled debut album which drops January 27th courtesy of Spacebomb Records. Peace.
