Plugin Name: Distrify Embed
Plugin URI: http://support.distrify.com/customer/portal/articles/264106-how-do-i-embed-on-a-wordpress-blog-
Description: Extends WordPress's Embeds allowing bloggers to easily embed videos from Distrify. Just go to any Distrify film page or player and copy the URL. Paste that URL in any WordPress blog and it will automatically be converted to an embedded Distrify player. If you are logged in to distrify.com it will automatically add your affiliate tracking code to your embeds. Make sure you turn on Auto-embeds in your WP settings and also make sure that the URL is on its own line and not hyperlinked (clickable when viewing the post). The plugin also extracts the still image from the film and saves it as the Featured Image for the post. This actually works for any Embed (not just Distrify) that you embed into your WordPress blog.

A while back, multi-faceted UK artist Ghostpoet was approached for a remix competition in which fans would rework one (or more) of three singles from his recently released Some Say I So I Say Light LP courtesy of [PIAS] Recordings
The tracks:
1. Meltdown
2. Cold Win
3. Dial Tones
After much deliberation the winners were, Bastard Sugar’s otherworldly version of Dial Tones, UK artist Thinnen’s dark and bass-loaded take on Cold Win, and the heavily percussive house remix of Meltdown by Londoner Joe Ashworth. All three of the tracks will be cut to their own dubplates by The Carvery, and can be streamed in full below. Peace. Continue reading “ghostpoet // remix competition winners”
klangkarussell // sonnentanz (the sun don’t shine)
Klangkarussell featuring Will Heard’s Sonnentanz (The Sun Don’t Shine) is the deep house anthem that bears all the hallmarks of becoming one of this summer’s biggest dance hits.
Capitol Cities are channeling Sir Paul McCartney on their Love Away track and I ain’t mad at ’em one bit. It’s a great song with an equally great vibe. And the chorus, “Love, just love away, just do it every day, just do it every way.” I mean really, who can argue with that kind of logic? Not I. The song is the last song on the duo incredible In a Tidal Wave of Mystery LP which debuted recently. I’ve also included their wonderful Staying Alive Remix for all you Bee Gee fans. Bee who? I know right…lol. Also, if you head over to Google Play you can get a FREE DOWNLOAD of the track Kangaroo Court for a limited time only. Peace.
If you know your dubstep then the name Ollie ‘Skream’ Jones is a familiar one. However, as of late he’s in the midst of his own musical renaissance. His latest mix, Disco Set For Judie, finds Skream revisiting the Golden era of disco with all it’s vibrant groove and time tested chillsticity. But of course Skream adds his signature flavor to the mix, no surprise there, right? Also, as an added benefit this Neo Disco compilation is a FREE DOWNLOAD! Peace. Recently, the Stockholm, Sweden band The Knife released Shaking The Habitual courtesy of Rabid Records. This is the sound collectives first studio album since Silent Shout and it’s absurdly fluent in the poly-rhythmic aural nutrients their known for, that’s a compliment. What or who do sound like? Well, if you’re a fan of Gang Gang Dance and the Tune Yards you’ll be happy as a clam with The Knife. After the jump check out the official video for the track A Tooth For An Eye and the Pursuit Grooves Remix. Peace. Continue reading “the knife // a tooth for an eye + official video & remix”
One sure thing you can count on when dropping the needle on any music by Capital Cities is it will remain fresh and crispy endlessly. This duo (Ryan Merchant
and Sebu Simonian) made impressive moves last year (loved their remake of The Purple Ones’ Nothing Compares 2 U), and in 2013 are slatted to drop their debut album In A Tidal Wave Of Mystery on June 11th. Continue reading “capital cities // safe and sound + video”
Victoria Christina Hesketh better known professionally as Little Boots quietly released a new single. The A-Side the tantalizing and disco-sprinkled “Superstitious Heart,” and the flip side contains the track “Whatever Sets You Free“. Both are groove worthy and a great addition to any playlist designed to chill the hours away. Production credits go to Maya Jane Coles, James Ford and Baunz and the release also contains a couple of remixes. Word on the streets is Ms. LB is gearing up for a new album release in March. Peace. Continue reading “little boots // superstitious heart”
Russ “the Captain” Randolph and Zion Rock Godchaux together form the rock/bass/disco house project Boombox and so far these Alabamians have proven you can’t judge musical influences by geography. The track, “Lost Ya,” is different in all the right ways. Peace. Continue reading “boombox // lost ya”
the talented young guns who make up the duo bondax (george townsend and adam kaye) are making waves and for good reason, they’ve got the midas touch when it comes to turning out great production and even groove theory music tracks. check out, “baby i got that” and their exclusive fader mix. the boys from britain kick off a series of north american dates starting in nyc at glasslands on december 5th. if you happen to see them send me some pics. peace. Continue reading “bondax // baby i got that”
