the walkmen // the house you made // heaven

In regards to the The Walkmen’s new album Heaven band member and  guitarist Paul Maroon had this to say, “when you’re starting out, you’re sitting there trying to come up with a big idea, but after a while, you learn about the process of writing. You learn about your friends in the band and how they work best.” Indeed, what a decade it has been watching this band grow and develop into the deeply introspective band they are today, and the new release finds them in fine and beautiful form. The new album Heaven is available now at fine record shops (almost) everywhere.  Peace. Continue reading “the walkmen // the house you made // heaven”

lemonade // soft kiss

Call it what you want, neo-R&B or fractious 80’s Pop with soft shards of ambient electric blue whispers thrown in for good measure. Somehow categorization isn’t as important has the music. Here the Brooklyn threesome Lemonade offers us ballads bathed in glowing radiant structure. The album is Diver and the song featured here is “Soft Kiss,” and it resonates with tangible afterglow. Also, after the jump let your eyes soak up the lush visuals of the trio’s “Neptune” video. So hot (I wanna be a leopard-print towel). Love it. By the way, you get the sensual album and soulful slice of listening paradise Diver on Amazon and iTunes. Peace. Continue reading “lemonade // soft kiss”
