the gtw // bleach pool

The GTW (aka James Akaninyene King) is an after effect. Here is yet manifestation, another self-aware tendril from the Hip Hop’s Big Bang. The legacy of what Hip Hop continues to spawn and reinvent in the wake of a continual, intercontinental and relentlessness global reach which is endlessly awe inspiring.

Born in Etinan, Nigeria The GTW is an electronic hip/hop producer/songwriter currently based in Chi-Town. His fresh beats are just picked, warmed by the sun. After the jump check out his latest cut Bleach Pool. This is a mellifluous and melodious make up after you break up track. It is heavy on bass, it resonates the kick and snare and those tickling ivory interludes are akin to kisses upon her perfumed neck.

James King is also a member of the R&B collective called JODY, find them and know joy. Peace. Continue reading “the gtw // bleach pool”

Sunbeam Sound Machine is the sonic spaceship and 23-year-old Melbourne denizen Nick Sowersby is its sole pilot. nadine carina | the love | video

Nadine Carina
has a way of delivering a song entwined in a honey-jar-throated-timbre that leaves bees and humans wanting more. And much like light waves caught in in the pull of a black hole, one falls easily into her musical grace, beautifully inescapable. Watch the Shondel Bervini directed video for the first single taken from the Things That People Love To Remember EP, out now on On the Camper Records. Peace. metronomy // i’m aqaurius + video

Metronomy drops the official music video for his latest track I’m Aquarius, directed by Edouard Salier. The song is off the new album Love Letters via . The video is totally Stanley Kubrick-ish (2001: A Space Odyssey anyone?) with equal parts wtf and quirky. The video involves lead vocalist Joseph Mount engaged in interstellar travels to a distant orb were Sphynx cats and iffy inhabitants are constant themes and it ends in a burst of space dust or kitty litter, you decide. Love the track though. Peace. Continue reading “metronomy // i’m aqaurius + video”

the colourist // lido ep

The Chainsmokers (Drew Taggart & Alex Pall ) recently accosted the track Fix This, an original track by the band The Colourist. The re-work is as shapely and voluptuous as a futuristic pin-up beauty, or it could be I am just shamelessly smitten with Maya Tuttle’s amatory vocals? Both.

Anywho, get more of the Chainsmokers here. And check out The Colourist right here on iTunes. Peace. Continue reading “the colourist // lido ep”
