Plugin Name: Distrify Embed
Plugin URI: http://support.distrify.com/customer/portal/articles/264106-how-do-i-embed-on-a-wordpress-blog-
Description: Extends WordPress's Embeds allowing bloggers to easily embed videos from Distrify. Just go to any Distrify film page or player and copy the URL. Paste that URL in any WordPress blog and it will automatically be converted to an embedded Distrify player. If you are logged in to distrify.com it will automatically add your affiliate tracking code to your embeds. Make sure you turn on Auto-embeds in your WP settings and also make sure that the URL is on its own line and not hyperlinked (clickable when viewing the post). The plugin also extracts the still image from the film and saves it as the Featured Image for the post. This actually works for any Embed (not just Distrify) that you embed into your WordPress blog.

A good song is likened to a good friend who keeps buying you drinks.
Not a new song by any means, but I was going through my iPod and came across the song “Baby Baby Sweet Sweet,” by Hyphen Hyphen. The track is from their ‘Chewbacca I’m Your Mother‘ EP (2011). The song still sounds fresh as a new lover to me. You can also get it on iTunes, Amazon and eMusic. Peace. Continue reading “hyphen hyphen // baby baby sweet sweet”
A duet of voices twisting like damp sheets and tendrils of cigarette smoke.
Washington D.C.-based project GEMS is Clifford John Usher and Lindsay Pitts. And theirs is a sound piled high with all the angel’s breath heaven could spare and the hollow bird bones of a light feathered durable ambiance. The song “All I Ever,” reminds me of something from the Cocteau Twins of yesteryear. Not a literal comparison mind you, but there is a similar vibe and ethereal aspect nonetheless. Peace. Continue reading “gems // all i ever”
Definitely one of the most memorable break-out singles of 2012 was the song “Pressure,” from the obscure artist known Until The Ribbon Breaks (U.T.R.B.). Well, now almost a year later comes the official video and it’s even equipped with a verse featuring Mr. MFN eXquire. Enjoy. Peace. Continue reading “until the ribbon breaks // pressure (officail video)”
The new album ‘Arc’ easily one of the most anticipated releases of 2013.
It’s been a minute since the boys from Manchester have dropped new material. And although we’ve heard the tracks ‘Cough, Cough” and “Kemosabe,” from their soon to be releases LP ‘Arc’ we’re still waiting for the other shoe to drop January 14th. In my book this is one of the most anticipated albums of 2013. Peace. Continue reading “everything everything // kemosabe”
After the release of their 2010 release ‘Wind Up Wooden Heart‘ via Antenna Farm Records, the San Franciscan 5-piece band Social Studies spent a great deal of time touring and writing new material in preparation for their next album. After a short break in 2011 their latest album ‘Developer‘ was released late last year (2012). The song “Away For The Weekend,” is a tumbling rock-infused bossa nova track, and like every SS tune it is carried wonderfully by lead singer Natalia Rogovin‘s warm vocals. After the jump you can also take a peek at the band’s “Terracur,” video. You’re welcome. Peace. Continue reading “social studies // away for the weekend”
A new year is just another opportunity to ease our souls with music.
Victoria Legrand and Alex Scally are the primary fixtures in the band Beach House, and oh there’s a drummer too (Daniel Franz). Anyway, check out their new video “New Year,” it features cats and all kinds of rural picturesque flora and fauna. The song is taken from their album ‘Bloom‘ via Sup Pop Records. Peace. Continue reading “beach house // new year”
Feel the chill wind blowing? Wait, it is only the music.
Brooklyn-based chillwave duo MS MR (Lizzy Plapinger & Max Hershenow) do exactly what I suppose they want to do, and that’s take listeners to a place of pristine juxtapositions. The docile vocals laid delicately atop quaint and demure production. Their ‘Candy Bar Creep Show EP‘ is a collection of four songs which only hint at the possibility of this duo. I sense a bit of restraint, and I hope that it is unleashed on their debut album release. Oh by the way, after the jump I included the MS MR Track Addict Vol. II for your listening pleasure. I’m such a nice guy. Peace. Continue reading “ms mr // candy bar creep show ep”
In walks the dopest beat, spinning you round and round.
I don’t know where you get you kicks from, but I get a gargantuan thrill bringing you music you’ll play deep into the night-o-sphere. DJ Shadow, the Grand Vizier of club music, is known for putting out dat’ good product for sho’. But, perhaps one of his greatest sets is ‘The Infamous South Beach Set’ spun December 2012. This one is lush, filled to the brim with music enough and of such caliber, it’ll keep you in party mode long after the work week begins. You can cop this FREE DOWNLOAD right ‘chere. Peace.
Your fate rests in your ability to synthesize music coming at you at the speed of raindbowed fluorescence.
The pulse of heartbeats are echoed and reverberated through time and space. Time and space are human constructs which assist in erecting order to the unexplained. Yet, as sentient carbon-based beings we seek understanding above all and the requisite stillness in which to contemplate the ceaseless riddles swirling around our numb skulls. To our aid there exists a young producer from the sunshine state enabling one and all to hop upon his slow motion wagon of mellow beats, taffy candy stretched out staccatos and free fall essences. His mother named him Marcel Everett, yet I wonder if she ever sensed his potential for creating the chillest music this side of Antarctica? Listen to the track “About U,” and slip down into euphoria. In closing, seek out your favorite gardener and let the herb fest continue. Peace. Continue reading “xxyyxx // about u”
Corin, Megan and Danny Brown. When is the video coming out?
At times you just have to revisit those songs that get you up and moving! The redo of Purity Ring‘s “Belispeak” into “Belispeak II” ft. Detroit rap resident and poetic potty-mouth Danny Brown is a match made somewhere in the disco realms of Dante’s Inferno. Pump this one again for fun time’s sake. Peace.
