kimbra | love in high places | official video

Kimbra to date doesn’t just put out music. No, she officially releases brilliant, radiant light time and time again. Ms. K’s music glistens like a flickering candle in a world filled with darkness.

After the jump lay your eyes on the beautiful Timothy Armstrong directed video for the track Love In High Places.

Love In High Places is a cavalcade of joyous poly rhythmic and classic neo soul infused (think Erykah Badu embroiled in a cloud of space smoke) with soul warming citrine.

The Golden Echo release, from which this track is lifted, exists as a sound temple awaiting your immediate supplication. Peace.

jmsn | jmsn | the blue album

Detroit-birthed, LA-based producer and singer-songwriter JMSN hangs his proverbial hat astutely on gravitas: Mr. Berishaj respects the legacy of what Soul music is and ought to be. What else can one say? And with his debut tour de force The Blue Album, well, it awaits in the green room for an introduction. And yes, you’ll become very well acquainted.

This one has a mind of it’s own. It will push up on you like aggressive honeyed kisses, leaving bruises in all the right places and your breath will be nowhere to be found. But the erogenous zones it is most adept at satisfying are the yearning curlicues of your ears. And, as we all know the ears are the windows to the soulverse. Yep, I said it. So, Whatever you do don’t you dare sleep on this one. Trust. Peace. Continue reading “jmsn | jmsn | the blue album”

TOKiMONSTA (Jennifer Lee) is known to untwist heads and with a long history of shooting heroin-esque aurals into earholes (and we’re junkies for every single TOKiMONSTA release) we are loving the new track. Drug pun so unintended.

And so it no surprise when we hear the cold crush that is the lead single Realla Feat. Anderson Paak (Yes, I’m done when the GIGANTAUR horns kick in AHHHHH YEAH!). The dangerously seductive track is lifted from the Desiderium album (out now courtesy of Young Art Records).

Finally, I really couldn’t live with myself if I didn’t leave your ears with the Lupe Fiasco (TOKiMONSTA Soperstar Remix). Peace.

Psst! Is it just me or does this track start off sounding like MJ’s Beat It? Continue reading “tokimonsta | realla feat. anderson paak”
