brave motion // hands

The four-piece band of the Summer 2013 will likely be Hands. Any band that can take the best parts of indie music scene and build such a monster sound is bound to amass a huge following. The track Brave Motion is awash with an herculean sonic force which will leave you not only breathless, but hungry for more. I haven’t heard the whole album yet, but if the songs, Brave Motion and Trouble are any indication of what’s lurking on their debut LP, Synesthesia, courtesy of Kill Rock Stars, then count me in. You can cop the new album on Bandcamp. Peace. Continue reading “brave motion // hands”

iggy and the stooges // burn

Without a doubt Iggy and the Stooges are the reigning grand-Godfathers of punk-rock. Since the bad boys hit the scene in 1973 it has been on and poppin’. And what better barometer for success than their out and out popularity? I&TS are more successful now in the latter part of their 40-plus career than ever before, go figure. But yet, the rational for their success is simple, the band simply kicks your teeth in and puts a shiner on your eye with the literal onslaught of their polytechnic counter culture musical fare. The music is still brash, raucous and in-your-face badass. Check out the track Burn from the bands 2013 release Ready To Die out now via Fat Possum Records. inc. // black wings

The Los Angeles-based brothers Andrew and Daniel Aged are the inc. This duo conjure an effortless new brand of R&B without many borders. The music swirls with the East meets West winds of the world and settles (barely) in the Northern hemisphere of our collective consciousness. In the end the music anchors it’s sonic tendrils in the nether regions of our libidinous Southern exposures. Now, that the four corners of the world are covered let’s allow the music to speak for itself. Check out the video for the song Black Wings and via Nowness and Your Truly enjoy a live session featuring the track The Place. You can cop their debut album No World right now via 4AD Records and iTunes. Peace.

The track Just Desserts is all kinds of fancy sexy, it’s got swagger galore and a popstastic sheen worthy of you ear’s undivided attention.
