Lizzo teams up with Caroline Smith and the creation is a know-doubt-about-it anthem for all those who could care less what other tongues are a waggin’ behind their backs. The track. Let Em Say is the latest single from the Lizzo Music camp. Peace. Continue reading “lizzo & caroline smith | let em say”
tuneyards | real thing | official video
tUnE-yArDs is Merrill Garbus and Nate Brenner. And they have gone and dropped some out-there optics in the form of a video for the track Real Thing. The song is taken from their current Nikki Nack LP (4AD Records).
The Tom Jobbins-directed video is a bit of a mind f&*k but that’s ok because if it wasn’t we’d be instantly suspicious! Peace. Continue reading “tuneyards | real thing | official video”
jaymes young | habits of my heart ep

Peace. Continue reading “jaymes young | habits of my heart ep”
xu zolar | Ilajaly

Xul Zolar are a three man puzzle. Take one piece away and the dynamics augment. My ears like the puzzle just the way it is. Ronald Rottel, Marin Geier and Christian Medgett combine into a synergistic and wunderbar trio of symbiotic indie pop perfection.
The track Ilajaly is the band’s first official release of 2014, which will be followed by a music video later in October. Ilajaly is taken from the forthcoming debut EP due for an early 2015 release. Peace. Continue reading “xu zolar | Ilajaly”

elijah blake | strange fruit | video premiere
“We’ve been talking too long. So baby what is you on? You say you’ve got a man at home.
But you can’t fight what you don’t know. If you ’bout it, I’ll be over there tonight
You can ride it, and I’ma make love to your mind. While I fuck you tonight…”
Elijah Blake is so kinda’ hot right now! And there are several good reasons to utter such ballsy proclamations. Give Me U, Mornin’ After and Strange Fruit are all above par examples of why Mr. Blake’s debut Drift EP release, courtesy of (C) 2014 Def Jam Recordings, is currently one of the hottest downloads right now. And really, there is no reason why you can’t have the good stuff too. Psst! Watch the video premiere of “Strange Fruit,” then check out the track Give Me U after the jump. Peace. thom yorke | tomorrow’s modern boxes lp
Thom Yorke is known to surprise as much as he is known for pushing the boundaries of what a song can be. On Friday, September 26th he did the unexpected, he dropped the Tomorrow’s Modern Boxes album! This is monster! And for Radiohead fans, diehard and casual alike, the joy is evident and immediate. And it isn’t just the 8-track release that is pure joie de vivre. It is the method of madness that is groundbreaking! Mr. Yorke has chosen to disseminate the album to the masses through “the front door” in a way that is pretty innovative and totes badass too. Read on. Continue reading “thom yorke | tomorrow’s modern boxes lp”

things we like: people’s climate march

If by chance you haven’t heard about the much ado about something that is the People’s Climate March going on today in NYC then allow me to pull your virtual shirttails.
What is the People’s Climate March? It is 100+ world leaders gathered in NYC. 2808 solidarity events in 166 countries. The largest climate march in history. Yes, that pretty much sums it up. But, it is also so much more. The success of today will only matter if we as individuals chose to have an impact and follow through with enduring and far reaching meaningful action. On a local and very personal level what can you do to guarantee change?
We know our environment: the ground beneath our collective feet and the air we breath are under assault. Our oceans and every other waterway are not up to snuff and are taking a beating. Melting ice caps, rising sea levels and wonky weather, all of these effects are propelled by and large negative human impact on the environment. We are at a very literal tipping point, whereas our actions and non-actions can either propel us into a better future or a very real and quality of life altering catastrophe. Tune in for life and let’s make a difference. Peace.
