Plugin Name: Distrify Embed
Plugin URI: http://support.distrify.com/customer/portal/articles/264106-how-do-i-embed-on-a-wordpress-blog-
Description: Extends WordPress's Embeds allowing bloggers to easily embed videos from Distrify. Just go to any Distrify film page or player and copy the URL. Paste that URL in any WordPress blog and it will automatically be converted to an embedded Distrify player. If you are logged in to distrify.com it will automatically add your affiliate tracking code to your embeds. Make sure you turn on Auto-embeds in your WP settings and also make sure that the URL is on its own line and not hyperlinked (clickable when viewing the post). The plugin also extracts the still image from the film and saves it as the Featured Image for the post. This actually works for any Embed (not just Distrify) that you embed into your WordPress blog.

Don’t let the name of this duo fool you, this one has a pulse and legs upon which to sprint full-tilt towards your ears with arms wide open.
although the name of this la-based duo maintain a slightly morbid namesake their music is anything but. to the contrary, the music here is lively has anyone could hope for with its mixing and splicing of pop bubbly and r&b rhythms (can you say genre defying?). Dead Times presents a winner with their latest track, “Feel” and ii is the first release since the duo’s self-titled 7-track album earlier this year. and like the lyric in this proclaim… “yeah my best is yet to come”. peace. Continue reading “dead times // feel”
It shifts and glows serpentine like through the outer edges of your groove theory.
Goodtime (aka John Cowhie) makes atmospheric electronic music and it pulses through your head gear fully armed and lethally seductive. the track, “Can’t Get Away” gets the Jape Remix and now it’s just deadlier on the eardrums. the original song is taken from The Colours Of Darkness LP (2011). peace. Continue reading “goodtime // can’t get away (jape remix)”
Molly Hamilton and Robert Earl Thomas = Widowspeak. and how this two-person act gets such a large all-consuming sound of a duo project is beyond me. their song, “Ballad of the Golden Hour” is gorgeous beyond and it is the first release from the forthcoming album ‘Almanac‘ to be released january the 22nd 2013. I think Ms. Hamilton’s voice could melt the Hope diamond. peace. Continue reading “widowspeak // ballad of the golden hour”
stand up against heart crime come to your ever receptive ear-space from sunny barcelona, spain. their song, “I Need No Sun” is a single release with hopefully more to follow. if you like the song head over to the band’s facebook page and let ’em know. you can also get a free digital download the band’s self-titled ep viz their bandcamp. peace. Continue reading “stand up against heart crime // i need no sun”
The Amsterdams is a total musical fizzle stick dosed with strong heady red wine.
The Amsterdams are a five-member band hailing from Bucharest, Romania. But don’t let that startle you, it just goes to show that good music can, and does come from the most unlikely of places. the song, “Sunology,” is a recent addition to the band’s candy-coated pop oeuvre. And, just perhaps the latest song is a teaser for a in-the-works forthcoming album in the near and dear future. Also, if you like their sound go to the band’s soundcloud page for a lot more. peace. Continue reading “the amsterdams // sunology”
Charlie Yin is Giraffage and this san francisco resident makes some of the chilliest music of 2012. and although his ‘Comfort’ album dropped in late 2011 it’s after effects were felt well into 2012. after the jump take an aural plunge in the depths and sonic euphoria that is, “Visible”. also, to stream and purchase the album go to Giraffage’s bandcamp. peace. Continue reading “giraffage // visible”
looking back over 2012 there may have been few bands and artists who or whom slipped beneath your radar. one such group is the columbus, ohio-based trio Way Yes. the band released their sparkling debut album ‘Walkability’ in march, and after the jump check out their infectious tune “Important”. good stuff. peace. Continue reading “way yes // important”
a debut of 5-songs that’ll leave their mark on your heart.
picked over winter bones and whiskey memories. perhaps these are the what is left upon listening to the debut album from the duo Maitland (Josh Hines and Jeff Mach). these are songs with mileage and head full of steam in their conveyance of lives ravaged by living. listen to each song which make up ‘from a cabin in the woods’ and be touched with cold fingers and hushed haunting tomes (and all this from mostly an acoustic guitar and two drum sets). you’ll wake up in the pitch black of night sweat introspection gasping for more. peace. Continue reading “maitland // from a cabin in the woods (our sunday best)”
london based trio London Grammar present their new lovingly dark single, “Hey Now” and its a bittersweet gem. i’m hoping this is the smoke before the fire in the form of a new and utterly gorgeous album. peace. Continue reading “london grammar // hey now”
