elizabeth rose // the good life (emoh instead remix)

The Elizabeth Rose track The Good Life gets a transcendental remix by fellow Aussie denizen and top notch producer/dj Chris ‘Emoh’ Emerson. The ensuing results are immediate as the track resonates sunshiny candied coated beams of euphoria into your eardrums. So, if you find yourself “down under” you can find Emoh Instead working the tables at various locales wherever. But, if your funds are prohibitively low there’s a cheaper way to get the Emoh Instead experience. Check out his debut Say So EP which received appreciative nods from the likes of A-Trak and Diplo. Like I have mentioned numerously, the Australian scene is burning up! With producers like Chet Faker, Ta-ku, Flume, LDRU and Yahtzel the future is indeed bright and tirelessly rhythmic.

Also, be on the look out for the Elizabeth Rose EP, it drops January 17th, 2014. Continue reading “elizabeth rose // the good life (emoh instead remix)”

daft punk | instant crush | feat. julian casablancas | video

In case you’ve forgotten (how could you?) the French duo Daft Punk (Thomas Bangalter and Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo) released one of the most anticipated albums of 2013. Random Access Memories has gone on to garner countless accolades the world over. Now the guys have put out a slightly shaken and stirred video for the song Instant Crush featuring Julian Casablancas. I am thrilled because this is one of my favorite track on the RAM release. You can extract the visual after the jump and cop the audio via iTunes. Peace. the weeknd // balloons of haus + chi duly

Not one to rest on his laurels Brooklyn, NY-based producer Chi Duly puts a hell of a spin on one of Toronto’s soon-to-be favorite sons The Weeknd. And what he’s done is no mean feat, on Balloons Of Haus what you hear (and your body feels) is a cross sampling of The Weeknd’s complete body of work. From his first offering House Of Balloons, then onto  Thursday, and finally culminating in the latest Echoes Of Silence. Now, The Weeknd’s  growing mass of fans can move from listening to Abel Tesfaye in the bedroom and move it to the dance floor, but I have a feeling the vertical dancing will be just as dirty. My fedora off to Chi Duly for giving us another shining example of his production prowess. Peace. Continue reading “the weeknd // balloons of haus + chi duly”

Cherub // Doses And Mimosas

Jordan Kelley and Jason Huber, bka as the too-sexy-not-to-be-cool duo Cherub, are back and laying down their erotic brand of Pop music like an experienced plumber laying pipe. Yeah, you know damn well it’s THAT kind of party! And rest assured their track “Doses And Mimosas” is only a primer for what awaits fans when their forthcoming LP MoM & DaD drops. But, if there debut Man Of The Hour was the fan-frenzy concert, then MoM & DaD is the party after  after party the after party. It’s when J.K. and J. H. have returned to their respective hotel suites with an exquisite femme fatale in tow, and what happens next is experienced in slow motion and through a swirling haze of that King Cannabis. But more on that later. With Doses and Mimosas you’re treated to more of what makes Cherub such a fun band to listen to, the music is horizontal-dance worthy, and it is a whole lot of party, and you better take pictures. Because a Cherub party, although a wickedly good time, is a motherfucka’ to recall the next day. Yes, the bad boys below the MasonDixon Line are back and they got the music that’s still so damn good your ears are gonna want to have its baby. Peace.

P.S. And don’t forget to vote for Cherub’s Doses And Mimosas on the Hype Machine Continue reading “Cherub // Doses And Mimosas”

The Penelopes – Now Now Now (Miguel Campbell Remix)

This is one of those tracks with a sound so groovy upon hearing it your limbs start to move immediately, seemingly of their own volition. The Gallic duo, Axel Basquiat and
Vincent Tremel, together comprise The Penelopes and their song, “Now Now Now,” will surely make its way into your playlist far into the year. Oh, and the Laura Kidd vocals, sublime. No details about their forthcoming album, but rest assured I’ll keep you posted. Peace. Continue reading “The Penelopes – Now Now Now (Miguel Campbell Remix)”

Com Truise – Helena Beat (Foster The People Remix)

You ever get the feeling you want to put the brakes on it all and just coast on a slower frequency? Me too, and that is why the universe called into being Com Truise. Mr. Truise has a knack for re-working the rapid fire into a more sedate, but equally enjoyable groove. Listen to his take on the Foster The People‘s “Helena Beat,” and although it may feel like time is standing in a tub of molasses it’s still a sticky sweet situation nonetheless. Peace.
