Plugin Name: Distrify Embed
Plugin URI: http://support.distrify.com/customer/portal/articles/264106-how-do-i-embed-on-a-wordpress-blog-
Description: Extends WordPress's Embeds allowing bloggers to easily embed videos from Distrify. Just go to any Distrify film page or player and copy the URL. Paste that URL in any WordPress blog and it will automatically be converted to an embedded Distrify player. If you are logged in to distrify.com it will automatically add your affiliate tracking code to your embeds. Make sure you turn on Auto-embeds in your WP settings and also make sure that the URL is on its own line and not hyperlinked (clickable when viewing the post). The plugin also extracts the still image from the film and saves it as the Featured Image for the post. This actually works for any Embed (not just Distrify) that you embed into your WordPress blog.

for those familiar with grimes you know just how sub-zero chill her music can be. however, when you take a track like, “genesis” and put it into the hands of dj/producer easy girl you’re in for a dark surprise. the “genesis (easy girl) remix” is a mendicant black scrim of melancholy splendidly covered by besmirched synths and “tussled with” vocals which sometimes go beautifully staccato. this one is definitely some kind of sexy. oh before i forget, it’s a free download. so get it while it lasts. peace. There isn’t much not to like about Claire Boucher and her musical outlet/persona Grimes. Her latest album Visions is something one can do all sorts of things to, but mostly a body can get lost for hours on end just vibing out and surfing the inter-channels of your mind. After the jump check out her song “Genesis” reworked by Ryan Hemsworth with the addition of the unexpected words and rhymes of Deniro Farrar flowing effortlessly of Grimes’ inherent cool. Peace. The more I hear of the band TOPS the more I’m inclined to want to hear more. Check out the band’s new Jasper Baydala directed video for the song “Rings Of Saturn” which is a beautiful song with a past/present feel to it, and the home/movie/made quality of the video lends itself handsomely to that duality. After watching the video, all I have to say is, I wonder what’s in the punch? Peace. Continue reading “TOPS // Rings Of Saturn”
Luckily for music lovers, the music scene today is much like the universe, it is continuously expanding. Just about every day or so a new band is materializing and casting their songs into the fray. Being the amateur astronomer that I am, whilst stargazing recently I spotted the band TOPS streaking across the sky of my purview. Now, I’m not one to succumb to wild conjecture concerning bands of another time and place, but I must admit this band has a sound not well known nor oft encountered, let alone appreciated. But, as always so much of a band’s appeal is determined by exposure to the right audience, and I’m hoping the audience I write for is listening with their ears wide-open. When I first listened to the song “Turn Your Love Around” it reminded me of something out of the mid to late 60’s era. It sounds 60’s chic with a modern anesthetic and sensibility, not so much flower child, as an reinvention of the likes of an Marianne Faithful or Gayle McCormick, but conjoined with present day 21st century modernity. Yes, it may sound a bit 60-ish, strutting around in new white knee-high boots, but it also sounds new and capable of introducing listeners to a classic sound reexamined. Both the songs “Turn Your Love Around” and “Diamond Look” are tracks from the forthcoming full-length album Tender Opposites. You can Pre-Order via Arbutus Records a cassette format or CD. However, the cool thing about the cassette is it will have: Continue reading “tops // turn your love around”
