our sunday best: dustin tebbutt

Aussie song craftsman Dustin Tebbutt is new to me and although that isn’t necessarily a ringing endorsement it’s okay. Because once you listen to the music nothing else will matter anyway. His latest and forthcoming work will come to us in the form of the mini-album Home release. To date we have his study in all things tranquil and adulatory. Apt examples of such would be his Illuminate single and two splendid previous works: The Breach and Bones EPs. Continue reading “our sunday best: dustin tebbutt”

ms mr // candy bar creep show ep

Feel the chill wind blowing? Wait, it is only the music.

Brooklyn-based chillwave duo MS MR (Lizzy Plapinger & Max Hershenow) do exactly what I suppose they want to do, and that’s take listeners to a place of pristine juxtapositions. The docile vocals laid delicately atop quaint and demure production. Their ‘Candy Bar Creep Show EP‘ is a collection of four songs which only hint at the possibility of this duo. I sense a bit of restraint, and I hope that it is unleashed on their debut album release. Oh by the way, after the jump I included the MS MR Track Addict Vol. II for your listening pleasure. I’m such a nice guy. Peace. Continue reading “ms mr // candy bar creep show ep”

Male Bonding – Bones

Although the song “Bones,” by Male Bonding came out earlier (mid-2011), it’s even better covering my ears with remnants of summer on an otherwise gloomy Michigan day. The fuzzed out guitar and banging drums punching holes in lead-singer John Arthur Webb‘s vocals, or is it the other way around? Regardless, it’s a sliver of what I did last summer; a sound memento if you will. No matter, I welcome it. If you haven’t, check out the rest of the Endless Now album, and make your own ‘good times’ memories. Peace. Continue reading “Male Bonding – Bones”
