Previously after being snatched up and added to the Brainfeeder roster in 2010 we’ve been treated to certified gemified EPS, Some Other Time and When You’re Gone. Lapalux’s debut release Nostalchic peeled domes back to the white meat and sprinkled space dust where space dust previously had been withheld. And now here were are and front and center is Lustmore and it drips eroticism like an exotic and naked dancer of exquisite form and slowly gyrating hips.

Stuward Howard is well-steeped in groove ridden ultramatic musical sensuality and maybe that’s just his cross to bare. And if that be the case he’s particularly adequately equipped for such an endeavor. As Lapalux the definition and realm of what musical can be is so much as being challenged as it is being rearranged in vastly nuanced renditions. Think of the arched rainbow re-tied up with loop-the-loops and meditative spiral twirls. The colors turned down low, burnished with heavy-lidded bedroom eyes filled a smoldering and lustful gaze.

The pulse of heartbeats are echoed and reverberated through time and space. Time and space are human constructs which assist in erecting order to the unexplained. Yet, as sentient carbon-based beings we seek understanding above all and the requisite stillness in which to contemplate the ceaseless riddles swirling around our numb skulls. To our aid there exists a young producer from the sunshine state enabling one and all to hop upon his slow motion wagon of mellow beats, taffy candy stretched out staccatos and free fall essences. His mother named him Marcel Everett, yet I wonder if she ever sensed his potential for creating the chillest music this side of Antarctica? Listen to the track “About U,” and slip down into euphoria. Dntel // Still

James Scott “Jimmy” Tamborello bka Dntel is a lot things, but it’s his skill at composing wickedly chill electronica that has garnered him the most attention.  The track “Chill” is a perfect example of his ongoing and ever-expanding oeuvre. Most recently, his latest LP titled Aimlessness is total dream production. This release is 12-tracks of gorgeously sculpted music; it’s the stuff burning candles and iridescent moonlight listen to when they want to vibe out. These guys weren’t even on my radar until my cuz Quinci tapped my shoulder. Just goes to show your ears can’t be everywhere all the time. But really that is the spirit of Mitten Mouth Music. Sharing. ‘Cause sharing is caring. But on the real, the best suggestions in my opinion are from the people who know you best. Ok, let’s talk about Cherub. This is the last sound you’d expect to hear coming out of Nashville, TN home of the Grand Old Opry.
 

 
But Jordan Kelley and Jason Huber have built quite the hipster Frankenstein of sound below the Mason-Dixon Line. This is 100% pure future hi-octane soul music. The Man of the Hour EP will bathe your brain in a purple haze and give you the munchies for a warm body next to yours. Regardless of the inevitable  Passion Pit and MGMT references these guys are on some next level shit.  Cherub is mining the  Electro-Funkadelic-Prince Roger Nelson-Neo-Soul vibe.

And boy have hit the mother-lode. With songs like “Love You Right”, “Disco Inferno”, “Goodbye Winter“ and the seductive closing title track “Man of the Hour” Cherub is clearly on the some lover boy thematics. The duo known as Cherub are beyond cool. They’ve transcended way up into the stratosphere where tarnished angels wear wicked grins and smoke blunts of unadulterated rainbows.
