Plugin Name: Distrify Embed
Plugin URI: http://support.distrify.com/customer/portal/articles/264106-how-do-i-embed-on-a-wordpress-blog-
Description: Extends WordPress's Embeds allowing bloggers to easily embed videos from Distrify. Just go to any Distrify film page or player and copy the URL. Paste that URL in any WordPress blog and it will automatically be converted to an embedded Distrify player. If you are logged in to distrify.com it will automatically add your affiliate tracking code to your embeds. Make sure you turn on Auto-embeds in your WP settings and also make sure that the URL is on its own line and not hyperlinked (clickable when viewing the post). The plugin also extracts the still image from the film and saves it as the Featured Image for the post. This actually works for any Embed (not just Distrify) that you embed into your WordPress blog.

A bunch of guys making music resplendent with glossy feel good.
I got much love for the up and coming Bergen, Norway band Young Dreams. The band is lead by the highly creative and very capable composer/multi-instrumentalist/producer Matias Tellez, and since 2010 this group in only gaining more and more fans along the way. They’ve only recently signed to Modular Records and their debut album ‘Between Places‘ is expected to drop March 4th (UK, EU) and March 5th (US). After the jump check their “Fog Of War,” Modular Studio Session. Trust this is great musical fare. Peace. Continue reading “young dreams // fog of war (modular studio session)”
A duet of voices twisting like damp sheets and tendrils of cigarette smoke.
Washington D.C.-based project GEMS is Clifford John Usher and Lindsay Pitts. And theirs is a sound piled high with all the angel’s breath heaven could spare and the hollow bird bones of a light feathered durable ambiance. The song “All I Ever,” reminds me of something from the Cocteau Twins of yesteryear. Not a literal comparison mind you, but there is a similar vibe and ethereal aspect nonetheless. Peace. Continue reading “gems // all i ever”
Like a tall cool drink of refreshing spirits, Trails And Ways are serving up round after round of 100-proof feel good music.
Oakland, California-based band Trails and Ways thought it would be a grand idea (and it is) to have all of the songs off their EP remixed by artists they admire and draw inspiration from like all good muses should. The band’s forthcoming remix EP, is set to drop January 8th, 2013. After the jump, check out the “Border Crosser (The Seshen Remix),” and “Nunca (The Highweights Remix).” Peace. Continue reading “trails and ways // border crosser (the sheshen remix)”
Charlie Yin is Giraffage and this san francisco resident makes some of the chilliest music of 2012. and although his ‘Comfort’ album dropped in late 2011 it’s after effects were felt well into 2012. after the jump take an aural plunge in the depths and sonic euphoria that is, “Visible”. also, to stream and purchase the album go to Giraffage’s bandcamp. peace. Continue reading “giraffage // visible”
it is so righteously good to hear new material from band vondalpark. not since their california analog dream and the more dynamic nyc stuff and nyc bags, which was in constant rotation of my playlist not so long ago. the uk trio is gearing to release their debut full-length ‘seabed’ via r&s records. after the jump listen to the first single release, “dracula”. the album drops march 13th next year. peace. Continue reading “vondalpark // dracula”
norwegian band young dreams releaset the first official single, “fog of war”, taken from their forthcoming ( as yet untitled) debut album, due in early 2013. the single drops digitally october 16th in the u.s, october 12th in australia, and october 15th in the u.k. after the jump check out both the new single and the kristoffer borgli-directed video for, “young dreams” this song resides somewhere on the dark side of the moon. Continue reading “young dreams // fog of war”
in this diy age of young musicians (and not so young), 19-year old yoodoo park is setting himself apart by not only doing what he does for fun, but excelling at it. the part-time californian (he spends his summers in japan) pens dream-pop layered with the tranquil colors of his environs; the muted blue-greens of the crashing pacific and the burnt pinkish-orange sunsets are all evident on his debut explore ep. his is a collection of 7-songs that put the brakes on the rushed urgency of a harried existence. this is great chill-out music, which pairs well with a bottle of wine or shots of daydream with good-vibe chasers. the explore ep opens with,“relax yourself (dolphin cry)” which sets the tone. each the ensuing song never strays from the slow-melting dream floes that continue until the final song, “patio” brushes softly against the skyline; gentle as a whisper. clocking in at 15: 35 minutes this is beautiful quickie for your ears to cuddle with. peace. Continue reading “grmln // explore ep”
I was duly impressed with Heavenly Beat (John Pena) since I heard his 2011 singles 7″ Suday and Faithless, the latter being was an instant favorite of mine. Now, Heavenly Beat has put out a magnificent LP with the release of Talent. The album title isn’t as pretentious as one might imagine. It seems to be more of a declaration of self-assurance, and a recognition of growth than anything haughty. This isn’t the pounding of Mr. Pena’s hands to chest, it is simply artistic confidence (well deserved). After the break listen to entire album courtesy of Captured Tracks. And thanks Mr. Pena for including the song Faithless on this album. Thumbs up, way up! Peace. Continue reading “heavenly beat // talent (full album stream)”
The San Diego electro collective known as Mothlight and helmed by music mastermind Matt Billings released their American Spirit EP a few months ago (May 17th), and frankly speaking you deserve nothing less than to be washed beneath this luscious wave of euphoria over and over again. It’s hard to categorize Mothlight’s sound, because its more an amalgamation of genres, ranging from ambient, chillwave, psychedelica and the seemingly all-encompassing scatter-shot umbrella known as contemporary Pop music. Whatever you deign to label it, it works. Peace. Continue reading “mothlight // american spirit ep”
Not many folks are looking forward to the last waning days of summer but in August there is a glimmer of anticipation. San Francisco astral pop weavers The Bilinda Butchers release the single “Crystal Tears” from their forthcoming Goodbyes EP set to drop August 28th. And if you haven’t heard The Bilinda Butcher’s cherished 2011 release love regret guilt dreams EP then now is the time to rectify your oversight and set the universe on its proper axis. Peace.
