hello echo // coffee cups ep

the boston, massachusetts-based band hello echo have a gritty alt rock -n- roll thing going on, and i like it! with the trio’s latest release, titled ‘coffee cups ep‘, you get a strong taste of what’s to come. the release contains three songs which showcase why rolling stone magazine dubbed them a band to watch, but never that, just listen to the self-titled song “coffee cups”, “i wore it too” and my hands-down favorite, “country“. all of the songs provide ample reason why this band will be more than a passing infatuation. also, check the twangy yet beautiful track, “close your eyes and see” from the band’s debut lp ‘and as an extra nice bonus watch (and listen) to the neil young cover ‘everybody knows this is nowherehello‘ after the jump. peace. Married To The Sea // Mutiny

You know you got a good bunch of friends when they’re suggesting such good music as that put out by Married To The Sea and their latest Pack Xerxes EP. Now I’m not sure if the album title is a reference to the Persian ruler of long ago (See the movie 300). But I do know this, I like the two tracks I’ve heard thus far, “Mutiny” and “Crash Hams,” and yes they resonate at very pleasurable wavelengths (“Crash Hams”). For more of this excellent band check out their SoundCloud. Peace. Continue reading “Married To The Sea // Mutiny”

Sam Amidon – How Come That Blood + FM Belfast Remix

The gift of music, if its the right music, will keep on giving, and giving. Thanks to our friends from FM Belfast for sharing and introducing me/us to Sam Amidon. I’m rapacious for new music and I’ve been listening to “How Come That Blood” remixed by FM Belfast since FMB Tweeted the link, and I already love it. After searching for the lyrics the song may have so many meanings, but likely allegorical as befits the season. I have also posted Sam Amidon’s album I See The Sign via bandcamp. Merry Christmas! Peace.

And Sam’s Neil Young cover is really quite good as well. Enjoy!
