Plugin Name: Distrify Embed
Plugin URI: http://support.distrify.com/customer/portal/articles/264106-how-do-i-embed-on-a-wordpress-blog-
Description: Extends WordPress's Embeds allowing bloggers to easily embed videos from Distrify. Just go to any Distrify film page or player and copy the URL. Paste that URL in any WordPress blog and it will automatically be converted to an embedded Distrify player. If you are logged in to distrify.com it will automatically add your affiliate tracking code to your embeds. Make sure you turn on Auto-embeds in your WP settings and also make sure that the URL is on its own line and not hyperlinked (clickable when viewing the post). The plugin also extracts the still image from the film and saves it as the Featured Image for the post. This actually works for any Embed (not just Distrify) that you embed into your WordPress blog.

The sophomore release from Young Man, Vol. 1, is a seemingly effortless body of work. It is beautiful and dripping with the tranquil and the utterly melodic. As the 23-year-old Brooklyn singer/guitarist/songwriter Colin Caulfield readily demonstrates his prowess with well crafted and melodic songs. Listen and watch his video for the song, “Fate” and immerse yourself ear deep within its lush beauty. Vol. 1 is an album you’ll want to listen to more and more, so why don’t you give Young Man a try. In closing, I am also recommending Colin Caulfield’s Ideas Of Distance EP. Yes, it’s only 3 songs, but they’re much more here than 3 songs. Peace.
New York gang of three Shy Around Strangers have a knack for penning authentic (and performing) balls-to-the-wall rock fare without an iota of pretentiousness. Check out Emily Powers and the brothers Dawson (Saric and Michael) kicking up a lot of dust with the song, “Never Look Down”. The band is still putting the finishing touches on their debut EP due out in August. And although I really like the jam laden “Never Look Down” version, I believe I may be over the moon for the acoustic set. Check ’em both out after the jump. Peace. Continue reading “shy around strangers // never look down”
Nick Ditri & Danny Danger are The Disco Fries and here they’ve put their magic fingers all over the Avicii song “Silhouettes” and it’s a sexilicious joint. So, pump up the volume and get ready party all Memorial Weekend long. Peace. Continue reading “avicii // silhouettes (the disco fries remix)”
Fresh out of the hotbed of new talent pool that NYC perpetually spawns I give you Future Of What, there one of the latest bands out of Brooklyn. On June 26th you’ll be able to sample their Moonstruck EP, which features the ever so cuddly track “I Wait For You.” The song was recorded earlier this year by the much capable Daniel Schlett (Here We Go Magic, DIIV). Amidst swirling striations of synth and rapid fire electronic bursts Blair’s summery vocals will have you yearning for much more. You’ll be an instant fan. Peace. Continue reading “future of what // i wait for you”
Amidst the corporeal swirls of an exhaling universe you can find the sweet sonics of Tiny Victories oscillating with wild abandon to non-stop sun beats and moon claps. Check out the Brooklyn, NYC duo’s “Mr. Bones” the Brian Bowman (of Nice Shoes) -directed video. The song comes from their debut Those Of Us Still Alive EP out via BirdDog Records. Also, check out more good stuff on their Soundcloud page. Peace. Continue reading “Tiny Victories // Mr. Bones”
Ben “DJ B-Roc” Ruttner and James “JPatt” Patterson are NYC’s The Knocks and what they offer is cluby bubbly musical fare that is tantamount to a bit of fairy dust in your bloodstream. Yes, my metaphors and analogies are corny at times but oh so apt. However, The Knock’s song, “Learn To Fly” is expansive like the space-time continuum shot through with kaleidoscopic bejeweled colors . But your hands together and thank your lucky stars for this one. Peace. Continue reading “The Knocks // Learn To Fly”
The Men are an incredible noise punk/alt rock band out of Brooklyn, NYC. The bands immaculate song “A Minor” is featured on the Record Store 2012 Sampler: Todo Muere Volume 2, the song kicks a whole lotta’ butt. So, if you like bit of raucous music be sure to check ’em out. Also, these guys will be playing at The Pyramid Scheme in good old Grand Rapids in June. Check out the band’s music and tour schedule after the jump. Peace. Continue reading “The Men // A Minor”
