Meiko // Leave The Lights On (The Crystal Method Remix)

The artist known only as Meiko has a little big song titled “Leaves The Lights On” and it’s been remixed into a sleeker and slinkier affair by none other than The Crystal Method. However, and not keeping with the song’s theme I think it is apt to keep this song playing with the lights off and do your own version of dirty dancing with some lucky someone. “Leave the Lights On” from Meiko‘s forthcoming album The Bright Side scheduled to drop May 15th. Peace. Continue reading “Meiko // Leave The Lights On (The Crystal Method Remix)”

Bear In Heaven // The Reflection Of You

Perennial rockers Jon Philpot, Joe Stickney, and Adam Wills are the indie band Bear in Heaven, and they’ve  released their latest album, I Love You It’s Cool, this week. The first single, “Reflection of You” is a frenetic sugar- coated electro gem worth sharing with your ears and your friends alike. I have also included the Lovelock Remix, this remix slows things down a bit and sets out wine and candles. Enjoy. Peace.  Continue reading “Bear In Heaven // The Reflection Of You”

Lana Del Rey – Born To Die (AlunaGeorge Remix)

When I listen to the AlunaGeorge’s Born To Die Remix it makes me feel like I somehow rolled up Ms. Del Rey’s sexy shadow and pouting lips and somehow smoked them, you know like one of those funny cigarettes. Now, I feel like I’m somewhere all dangled up in the forgotten prayers cluttering up the stratosphere. And those prayers are stuck up there for lack of the proper postage of faith. But me, I have all the faith in the universe in Ms. Del Rey to transcend a devout listener to a higher plane. I also believe that if you listen to this track long and hard enough, it will deliver you too. Peace. Continue reading “Lana Del Rey – Born To Die (AlunaGeorge Remix)”

Cavaliers of Fun – Sharing Space Secrets

Cavaliers of Fun - Sharing Space Secrets

The universe created music for every conceivable situation, right? Right now I feeling pretty chill and so to soundtrack this particular mood I am playing one man band Cavaliers of Fun . I like the spacey sound, and I am set adrift upon rifts of intergalactic beats pelting my eardrums like cotton candy asteroids. You get the idea. The Sharing Space Secrets EP is the perfect little sound pill for whatever ails you. Thank you Ricco Vitali. Peace.

Everything Everything – MY KZ, UR BF

Everything Everything is one of those rare anomalies of a band, in that they have the uncanny ability to be several different bands rolled up into one, listen to their 2010 album Man Alive and you’ll understand just what I mean. In the song “MY KZ, UR BF” the listener is taken on a journey and for reasons justified they often don’t fancy returning to terra firma. Frontman Jonathan Higgs is definitely stealing the show with his forthright vocals, sounding like Chris Martin of Coldplay but way cooler and with much more swagger. I also love the blatant R&B rhythms melding ever so gently with the svelte electric-Pop-ish sound. It works, and that is all that matters. I also included a live version of the deadly sexy song “Schoolin'”, like me you will own this track come daylight, yeah its bad, MJ bad.  I posted the song “NASA Is On Your Side” just so you can feel it’s icy hand reach inside your chest and grab a fistful of your heart.
