I am kickin’ off Friday night with a FREE DOWNLOAD! Check out the multi-talented Cooly G: In Session courtesy of Mixmag. This one finds the empress of house in fine for, spinning hypnotic, wobbly, off-kilter house, bossy bass, and sounds with a splash of techo, deep, downtempo abstract and a melody of additional sounds that’ll clog your ears up with a primo brand of audible splith smoke. Enjoy. Peace. Continue reading “cooly g | in session: mixmag”
nima khak // searching all around (for you)
Nima Khak is a resident of Sweden but after listening to his productions you’ll swear up and down he’s an interstellar time traveler. Listen to Nima Khak’s ‘Searching All Around (For You)‘ release via 1:53.2 Records, and it is all one needs to get the night headed in the right direction. The release also features the tracks, “Bitter Sweet” and unconventional “A Tribe Called Quest“. In this posting I’ve also included a September 2012 mix session featuring not only Nima Khak but also fellow DJ alum Bryan Chapman on the Future Underground Show. Peace. sepehr // when she’s around
Yes, we’re letting the music take you there tonight in more ways than one. I’ve reached back in the dust-pin and wiped off this gem. But don’t worry those nasty beats never go out of style. check out DJ/Producer Sephr and the space oddity track, “When She’s Around“. I’m also dropping Sephr’s latest Gulshick Radio mix for your listening pleasure. Peace. Continue reading “sepehr // when she’s around”

fur coat // mind over matter
“Mind Over Matter is a way of thinking that we have,” says Muñoz. “We believe if you think what you want and you visualize it you can get it, and with the power of mind you can overcome any obstacle.”
Sounds like a sound philosophy to me. The Venezuelan DJ/Producer duo Fur Coat will release their debut Mind Over Matter LP in September. On which you can expect more of what the South American mixologists are renowned for; sick beats and totally danceable tracks. Sources say the album will combine new production, as well as songs from their two previous EPs. Looks like the two tracks after the jump didn’t make it onto the album. But that just means there will be more new stuff to look forward to, and chances are they’ll blow your mind. Peace. Continue reading “fur coat // mind over matter”
avicii // silhouettes (the disco fries remix)

Soul Clap // EFUNK
According to their official biography, “Before today is yesterday and after tomorrow is the future, Elyte and Cnyce’s paths were crossed for all time when a Sun Ra light beam sent from Saturn collided with the P-Funk Mothership and sent them tumbling to earth. Now, Soul Clap time travels on a musical spaceship of dopeness.” Yes, that’s how it all went down, and aren’t we the lucky ones to now have this space-traveling and soul sound-bending duo (Cnyce and Elyte) bka Soul Clap amongst us? And, we thank the universe for delivering Soul Clap safely unto our collective ear spaces. I’m just thankful their EFUNK album is now living and breathing amongst us mere mortals, and just you know it’ll blow your hair back. The 13-track album in now available on iTunes for your pleasure. So, do you and your own private Idaho a favor and cop this moment in space for all of eternity, or at least until the mother ship comes and collects us. Peace. Continue reading “Soul Clap // EFUNK”
Daniel Bortz // Rescue Me
It is always a good when time when Daniel Bortz is spinning the wheels of steel and mixing it up. Check out his Heal The World EP out now via Berlin-based Suol Records. And although the whole EP is sweet the last track “Rescue Me” takes you there. I have a feeling you’ll like it, so crank it and let it do what it do. Peace. Continue reading “Daniel Bortz // Rescue Me”
nina kraviz // ghetto kraviz
Even if Muscovite Nina Kraviz wasn’t scintillately hot would I still gravitate towards her music? Hell YES! Although she is quite the eye-candy, it her skills as a DJ/Producer/Vocalist that’ll keep you drooling on dance floors or in the comfy confines of your very own chill pad (hopefully not alone). Ms. Kraviz’s sound is a pleasant mix of bare-bones house, the old school Detroit house variety. Throw in a smidgin of R&B, add Nina’s adroit and honey dripping vocals and you got an album to be reckoned with. I know you’re feeling this, so cop it at iTunes. Peace. the weeknd // balloons of haus + chi duly
Not one to rest on his laurels Brooklyn, NY-based producer Chi Duly puts a hell of a spin on one of Toronto’s soon-to-be favorite sons The Weeknd. And what he’s done is no mean feat, on Balloons Of Haus what you hear (and your body feels) is a cross sampling of The Weeknd’s complete body of work. From his first offering House Of Balloons, then onto Thursday, and finally culminating in the latest Echoes Of Silence. Now, The Weeknd’s growing mass of fans can move from listening to Abel Tesfaye in the bedroom and move it to the dance floor, but I have a feeling the vertical dancing will be just as dirty. My fedora off to Chi Duly for giving us another shining example of his production prowess. Peace. Continue reading “the weeknd // balloons of haus + chi duly”
