The soulful music of Elliot Brood is found somewhere in-between the rusticity of folk and the twanginess of country, with a smidgen of bluegrass thrown in for good measure. It’s music emanating from a raw open heart of good intentions, and with all good intentions there is a chasm of humanity thrown into this pot of songs. The songs are from Elliot Brood’s album Days Into Years, and I hope you’re hungry for music with accoutrement enough to flavor emotions with the salt and pepper of life. By that, I mean to say these songs are garnished not with garish melodies nor are they sickly sweet, these songs are of the uncommon staple of wholesomeness. You’ll feel it all, the sadness, the conflict, and joy that is found in unsuspected places. After the jump, check of the songs “Northern Air” and “If I Get Old” both of which will make you feel that something magical is haunting your speakers when you fill them with Elliot Brood. Peace.
