moby // almost home (best friends animal society lyric video)

Moby is pleased to announce he has made a lyric video for his next single “Almost Home” a collaboration with Damien Jurado taken from his recently released 11th album Innocents.

The video was recorded at Best Friends Animal Society in Los Angeles where Moby was surrounded by beautiful dogs and cats–all deserving of love and good homes, especially during this holiday season.

As someone who is a proud papa to an amazing, beautiful, loving, hilarious and spirited Boston Terrier pup I highly suggest you give it a viewing and share it. Peace.

Thanks and Happy Holidays!!!

teenage spaceship | how to dress well | aaron read & tom krell | smog cover

On a cold day I have just walked back indoors. In from the December cold. Stomping my booted feet in the breezeway. Then. Into a warm kitchen. Inside I settle in with hot green tea with a bit of raw honey. I sit at my desk and fire up the Mac. I log into various sites and social media. Sign into my blog. I search for something that’ll inspire me. I search the many submissions in two email accounts. Plow through several blogs. Then. I find How To Dress Well’s cover of Teenage Spaceship and it glistens like the melting icicles out of doors. It cracks like the falling branches and falls into the chasm of my heart. I post this on my blog I am sated for the moment, but soon I’ll forages yet again. Peace. Continue reading “teenage spaceship | how to dress well | aaron read & tom krell | smog cover”

marvin gaye // grapevine (autrograf remix) + free download

Autograf. What am I supposed to do with this? The Marvin Gaye Grapevine (Autograf Remix) leaves me reeling. Leaves a brotha’ clicking repeat. Leaves my ears helpless and my body a tortured mess trying to dance it all out until the break of dawn. Autograf you are so wrong for this, but I am so glad you did. And its a FREE DOWNLOAD! Shut up! Peace. Continue reading “marvin gaye // grapevine (autrograf remix) + free download”

drift wood miracle | my condition

Drift Wood Miracle make the holiday very merry and especial indeed. The young men of music hailing from Durham, NC break out another sonic boom birthed from the echo chambers of their combined hearts. The Earology Dept is thrilled to premiere the band’s Christmas present to their dear fans (me included). My Condition, is the equivalent of a pound of osmium wrapped around a beloved’s velveteen and feather soft kisses.

As a band, comprised of Jack Chapman (lead guitar), Keir Schwarze (bass), Alex Phillips (drums, vocals) and Bryan Diver (rhythm guitar, vocals and keys), they find ways to mix their unique brand of subtle indie pop rock with a nuanced bitter-sweetness, it stirs up the conventional milieu of songcraft and replaces it with surprise aplenty and benevolent lyricism.

On first listen the high-energy on display will draw you in and lead vocalist Byran Diver’s emotive tone seals the deal. And with the palpable and totally tectonic drum-work and enough bootylicious bass play to warrant an NG-17 rating this single will do things to you you’ll want to hear (and feel) again.

So, if your ears were converted by the Cuidadé EP (2011) and The 21st LP (2013) then with My Condition they’ll remain faithful followers of DWM well into 2014 and beyond. And yes, it’s a gift, i.e., FREE DOWNLOAD. Peace.

the gtw // bleach pool

The GTW (aka James Akaninyene King) is an after effect. Here is yet manifestation, another self-aware tendril from the Hip Hop’s Big Bang. The legacy of what Hip Hop continues to spawn and reinvent in the wake of a continual, intercontinental and relentlessness global reach which is endlessly awe inspiring.

Born in Etinan, Nigeria The GTW is an electronic hip/hop producer/songwriter currently based in Chi-Town. His fresh beats are just picked, warmed by the sun. After the jump check out his latest cut Bleach Pool. This is a mellifluous and melodious make up after you break up track. It is heavy on bass, it resonates the kick and snare and those tickling ivory interludes are akin to kisses upon her perfumed neck.

James King is also a member of the R&B collective called JODY, find them and know joy. Peace. Continue reading “the gtw // bleach pool”

Sunbeam Sound Machine is the sonic spaceship and 23-year-old Melbourne denizen Nick Sowersby is its sole pilot. Check out the video premiere of the Tobias Willis-directed kaleidoscopic swirl which is the celluloid adaptation of  Cosmic Love Affair. The written song crated by Sowesrby is an ode to first love . The release is comprised of the One EP, an earlier albeit gritty exploration into the open sore sounds of honest garage rock. Continue reading “sunbeam sound machine // cosmic love affair + video premiere”
