Plugin Name: Distrify Embed
Plugin URI: http://support.distrify.com/customer/portal/articles/264106-how-do-i-embed-on-a-wordpress-blog-
Description: Extends WordPress's Embeds allowing bloggers to easily embed videos from Distrify. Just go to any Distrify film page or player and copy the URL. Paste that URL in any WordPress blog and it will automatically be converted to an embedded Distrify player. If you are logged in to distrify.com it will automatically add your affiliate tracking code to your embeds. Make sure you turn on Auto-embeds in your WP settings and also make sure that the URL is on its own line and not hyperlinked (clickable when viewing the post). The plugin also extracts the still image from the film and saves it as the Featured Image for the post. This actually works for any Embed (not just Distrify) that you embed into your WordPress blog.

dj shadow | nobody speak
DJ Shadow pumps our ears full of fun with his latest collaborative track Nobody Speak featuring NYC’s dem spittin’ figha’ boys Run The Jewels ( El-P and Killer Mike). The forthcoming album A Mountain Will Fall drops June 24th via Mass Appeal Records. The album release will also offer the previously-released titled-track A Mountain Will Fall (⇦ check it out by clicking on the link). Peace. P.S. The opening (and subsequent) guitar work is most def channeling Ali Farka Touré, am I wrong? Continue reading “dj shadow | nobody speak”
The artist Oscar sound like what you’d get if you took The Smiths, The B-52’s and The Cars and blended them all together to make the world’s coolest, and freshest, post-punk smoothie ever. Check out his track Sometimes. The song Sometimes is the new single from his forthcoming debut album, Cut and Paste courtesy of Wichita Recordings. Continue reading “oscar | sometimes”
Alaina Moore and Patrick Riley hail from Denver, Colorado and together they form the super chill minimalist Pop twosome Tennis. And in my mind they make amiable companions on this rainy Michigan Thursday. The featured track Mean Streets is taken from their Small Sound EP (2013) courtesy of Communion Records. The only thing that could possibly make this track better is the having Fetty Wap drop a lil’ sumpin sumpin’ but other than that it is damn near perfection in three minutes and twenty three seconds. Peace. Continue reading “throwback thursday: tennis | mean streats”
Minneapolis cool kids Bad Bad Hats spill a glut of material on their most recent release Psychic Reader, out now courtesy of Afternoon Records. The more I listen the more lead vocalist Kerry Alexander’s voice is slowly melting my mind with total sweetness. Check out a couple vids after the jump. Peace. Continue reading “bad bad hats | psychic reader”
Domo Genesis brings a bit a lighthearted frenetic energy to brush off the anticipated sun rays of a long hot summer (I hope). I am diggin’ the guitar solo, which gives the track Dapper an old school flare. You can cop this song March 25th and 11 more from Domo’s debut release GENESIS courtesy of Odd Future Records. Peace. Continue reading “domo genesis | dapper | ft. anderson paak”
Sheep, Dog & Wolf (namely Daniel McBride) is one of those introspective lads who manage to maintain both an air of brillinacy and a sense of inventive and communicative higher-conscious musicianship. Yes, that’s doin’ a lot, but he does it to fine affect. I also want to add, that I am both dissappointed that I am just now discovreing him for the first, and I point an accusing finger at you for not pulling my shirt tail sooner. But faux accusations aside the two gems I have posted after the jump are a study in tonal perfection and eloquent composition. In short, a polyrhytmic delight bar none. The tracks Glare and Breathe were lifted from the SD&W’s debut offering Egospect out now courtesy of Lil’ Chief Records. And alas there is video too. Check out the THUNDERLIPS directed visuals and just BREATHE already. Peace. Continue reading “sheep, dog & wolf | glare | breathe”
The London project proudly bearing the acronym SAF (Sick As Fuck) is so worth our nostalgic attention as the lead band in our weekly Throwback Thursday feature. I long for them like a hungered man fresh out of meaningful and emotive sustenance. SAF doesn’t have a lot of material but the lil’ handful on material they created is goody goody gumdrops good. Check out the few tracks I culled from their diminutive cartulary. Peace. Continue reading “throwback thursday: saf”
I’ve been a long-time fan of Cyril Hahn and his original version of Grace featuring Kotomi was airtight, but… But along comes the Grace (Palace Slo Mo Edit) and well, yes! The Palace edit sinks a bit deeper into an already tranquil and lost in the eddies track. I like it and I love it more than I like it. Am I making any sense? The original track is one of four featured on the Cyril Hahn’s Begin EP. Check it out after the jump. Peace. Continue reading “cyril hahn | grace | palace slo mo edit”
Poliça‘s forthcoming release United Crushers is expected to drop in March along with our collective hearts! SIGH! I adore (read obsessed) this little indie band that could, would and should be a part of music playlist, if only you let ’em in. Why for? Well, I’ll give you one reason, Channy Leaneagh and her wickedly mellifluous voice! EEEKK! Yes, I gotta check myself before I wreck myself! Okay, I got two thing. First, check out the track Lately after the jump. And secondly, you gotta’ feast your eyes on a The Current live session featuring Poliça playing their track Wedding. Good stuff! That’s all I got, for now. Peace. Continue reading “poliça | lately”
James Blake dropped his latest single Modern Soul and if you have any reservations about whether or not he’s still got the goods, well doubt no more. Not unlike any of Mr. B’s previous output this one too is heavy on the tranquil and beautifully subdued. Check it out below and stay tunes for news of a possible 2016 release. Peace.
