Plugin Name: Distrify Embed
Plugin URI: http://support.distrify.com/customer/portal/articles/264106-how-do-i-embed-on-a-wordpress-blog-
Description: Extends WordPress's Embeds allowing bloggers to easily embed videos from Distrify. Just go to any Distrify film page or player and copy the URL. Paste that URL in any WordPress blog and it will automatically be converted to an embedded Distrify player. If you are logged in to distrify.com it will automatically add your affiliate tracking code to your embeds. Make sure you turn on Auto-embeds in your WP settings and also make sure that the URL is on its own line and not hyperlinked (clickable when viewing the post). The plugin also extracts the still image from the film and saves it as the Featured Image for the post. This actually works for any Embed (not just Distrify) that you embed into your WordPress blog.

Mr Twin Sister has uncorked the full bright moon and poured heaven down upon us. With the latest track, In The House of Yes, listeners get treated to a jazzy spectacle of musical layer cake and the pièce de résistance (or cherry on top), is Andrea Estella‘s sedative-dusted vocals. Honestly, I think she could literally sing the stars down from on high. No lie.
Look for their self-titled sophomore Mr Twin Sister album soon. In the U.S. it hits the streets running September 23rd. Peace.
Brooklyn-based chillwave duo MS MR (Lizzy Plapinger & Max Hershenow) do exactly what I suppose they want to do, and that’s take listeners to a place of pristine juxtapositions. The docile vocals laid delicately atop quaint and demure production. Their ‘Candy Bar Creep Show EP‘ is a collection of four songs which only hint at the possibility of this duo. I sense a bit of restraint, and I hope that it is unleashed on their debut album release. Oh by the way, after the jump I included the MS MR Track Addict Vol. II for your listening pleasure. I’m such a nice guy. Peace. Continue reading “ms mr // candy bar creep show ep”
i made introductions last week about the mysterious brooklynite empresss of. now i am more than happy to share with you the first full song to be released (with more to follow i hope). check out her gosomer petaled-song, “don’t tell me” and i am all in. peace. some of the best kept secrets have their own way of spilling out all over the place. a perfect example of this is the barely internet searchable artist empress of (lorely rodriguez) is holing up in brooklyn, nyc and stirring her pot of mystically sensual music coined “color minutes” her words not mine. check out her color-coded numbered snippets (my fav is #6) on youtube. your musical appetite will be thoroughly whetted. peace.
last year (2011) ms. trixie whitley blew me away with her song, “thousand thieves” and now she is doing it all over again with another beautiful heart-stopping track. just a single listen to her latest song, “breathe you in my dreams” and it’ll be all over. this is the first release from her forthcoming debut alum ‘forth corner,‘ which is scheduled to drop january 29th (u.s) and february 11, (europe) 2013. can’t wait for the video for this one. it’ll be hard to top the former matthu placek-directed opus. peace. Continue reading “trixie whitley // breathe you in my dreams”
kevin morby, cassie ramone, justin sullivan, andbrian schleyer have this little band called the babies, and while the name may sound, well…infantile their music is assuredly not. listen to their track, “get lost” and right away you get the feeling this band is about wild raucous abandon. this is party music; the bar hopping-beer-swilling-cigarette-smoke-infused kind. the song “get lost” is the 1st single release from the band’s forthcoming lp which shares the same name. also, check out the song, “miracle mile” taken from the band’s anticipated sophomore release, our house on the hill. after the jump you can check out tour dates and figure out how you can get yourself there, i promise it’ll be a good time. peace. Continue reading “the babies // get lost”
the perennial shape-shifting band yellow ostrich has been in the studio working on new material, check out the first single, “ghosts” released via barsuk records. subsequently the band’s forthcoming album takes it title from this very song. you can expect a digital release of the 6-song mini-lp on the 22nd of october. also, you catch the band’s fall tour kicking off later this month. and as a gift to fans the track “ghosts” is available for free download. check out tour dates and listen to “ghosts” after the jump. peace. Continue reading “yellow ostrich // ghost”
sometimes a bit of pop magic happens and the world is a better place. and the east coast band eytan & the embassy rides the optimism wave all the way to shore and inland right into our hearts. the bands single, “everything changes” from which the album takes its name, is as buoyant bit of songcraft that will put a smile on your pretty (or handsome for you masculine types) face. you can also experience your own private listening party and hear the whole enchilada over at soundcloud. check out the video after the jump, and the star wars edition here. peace.
The math is pretty elementary on this one. justin stivers + justin gonzales = main vein shots of sun fried rainbows bathed chin deep in a feel good reduction. fyi justin s. (bassist on the antlers album ‘hospice’, pet ghost project), and justin g. manhandles all known and unknown musical instrumentation with otherworldly virtuosity. listen to the first single, “heavy drugs” from the band’s self-titled debut lp and get in touch with the vibrancy and beauty of a band who’s conquered the magic of experimentation and kept only the cream. you can cop the album on passenger peru’s bandpage. peace. Continue reading “passenger peru // heavy drugs”
NYC is known for (among other things) excellent bands. And bands don’t come any more excellent than Brooklyn’s Bear Hands. Recently the band released another round of melodic noise by way of their Songs From Utopia EP. The band describes the release as such, “Songs From Utopia Vol. One is a collection of quasi-political “thought pieces” that serve as a manifestation of overwhelming white guilt and a pinko elitist liberal arts education. Released worldwide on July 4th, 2012 it is also a birthday present for America.”
You can download it for free, as in no charge, from www.bearhandsband.com. A bit of advice though, when you click on the link the first thing you’ll see is bearded lead singer Dylan Rau sitting on a couch, now scroll down. See the sea green tool bar thingy? Click on the first icon/button with the X on it. Let the downloading begin. You’re welcome. Peace. Continue reading “bear hands // songs from utopia vol. 1”
