Clubfeet – Last Words (The C90s Remix)

It is time to unwind. Take a sip of something wet with a very high alcohol content and chillax. The track “Last Words” is just what the Dr. ordered and Clubfeet is the dispensary of such luscious grooves. I’ve provided a bit of audio and a bit of video for your viewing and listening pleasure. I have also added a video for the sultry “Edge Of Extremes” as a chaser. By the way, you can check out other selections here. Peace.

chromatics // kill for love (officail video)

The Chromatics create sensual electro-pop deeply steeped in post-New Order atmospherics. As a testament to the longevity of their sound, and a growing fan base their song “Tick Of The Clock” made the line-up on the Drive Soundtrack way back in the day. The album Night Drive debuted back in 2007 and still it holds it’s own against any electro-pop music today. The Chromatics are scheduled to drop the Kill For Love LP early next year (January?). Until then we’ve got the Alberto Rossini directed video for the Eurodisco single “Kill For Love” below. The video has a very retro look which I’m totally diggin’. When lead-singer Ruth Radelet starts “Kill For Love” off by saying, “Everybody’s got a secret to hide…” her voice makes me want to confess my latest secret, I love this song. Well, it’s not a secret anymore. Check it out. Peace.

You Love Her Coz She’s Dead – Leap of Desire

What better way to kick of a Friday than with You Love Her Coz She’s Dead or YLHCSD for short. These aren’t just a couple of blokes from Brighton, UK creating post-punk tinged electronica, this is a duo (Elle & Jay) laying it down extra thick. Don’t get it twisted. Yeah, you may think after listening to YLHCSD that YLHCSD biting on Crystal Castles.  Yes, the obvious influence is apparent, but hopefully with the release of their self-titled forthcoming LP they’re sure to gain a wider audience.  I’ve listened to their track “Leap Of Desire” (I), and every time it gets my blood pumpin’. Also, check it out the entire album below, and as a bonus I’ve also included the premiere video for “Leap Of Desire (I)”l. How nice am I? Peace.

P.S. Thanks Sheldon for the correction.

The Count & Sinden – Mega Mega Remix LP

It’s been a minute since we heard from the dynamic duo of The Count & Sinden. After dropping their monster collaborative 2011 debut LP, Mega Mega Mega, via Domino Records. But lo and behold here they are set to release a remix album. Next week Josh Harvey and Graeme Sinden aka TC&S are dropping their Mega Mega Remix LP. The album consists of 12-dope tracks from such cut creators as Canblaster, Dave Nada, Throwing Snow, Lone, and Hot City. Below, check out the track “You Make Me Feel So Good” (Throwing Snow Remix). Peace.

blacknbloom // music for the modern monkey

A whole different level of different but good.

Nothing wrong with keeping it simple and straight to the point. This is what you get when you listen to BlacknBloom. Yeah, they got drum machines, synths and a gaggle of other electric instrumentation. Yet, the music of Lori Steele and Alberto Beka manages to sound uncomplicated and simplistic. I love this modern duo from Los Angeles, because in a town known for its fake plastic personalities these two come across as anti-posers. And then there is Ms. Steele’s sing-song-rap-talkish vocals, which rings of above average elocution and rains on my eardrums like airy-hushiness personified. You can stream the debut LP Music for the Modern Monkey below. I really like the tracks “Slip Away” and “Hollywood Blvd. Remix” Check ’em out. Peace.

Chairlift – Peculiar Paradise

Chairlift Iis: Caroline Polachek, Aaron Pfenning, Patrick Wimberly

Straight out of Brooklyn, NYC comes the futuristic/retro trio Chairlift. There is clear musical references to 80;s and 90’s era pop, and if I’m not mistaken there is some Janet Jackson sampling going on. Currently, I am really digging the cut “Peculiar Paradise”, (click the link below to hear it). I love how their recent music inhabits several different elements at once: embracing the psychedelic, hazy electro and provocative signatures of R&B simultaneously. I also included the video for an older track titled “Bruises”. Check it out. Peace
