Plugin Name: Distrify Embed
Plugin URI: http://support.distrify.com/customer/portal/articles/264106-how-do-i-embed-on-a-wordpress-blog-
Description: Extends WordPress's Embeds allowing bloggers to easily embed videos from Distrify. Just go to any Distrify film page or player and copy the URL. Paste that URL in any WordPress blog and it will automatically be converted to an embedded Distrify player. If you are logged in to distrify.com it will automatically add your affiliate tracking code to your embeds. Make sure you turn on Auto-embeds in your WP settings and also make sure that the URL is on its own line and not hyperlinked (clickable when viewing the post). The plugin also extracts the still image from the film and saves it as the Featured Image for the post. This actually works for any Embed (not just Distrify) that you embed into your WordPress blog.

“When all the doubts are crystal clear Crashing hard into the secret wind.”
Belfast foursome Girls Names are unlike most bands in that they have forged a signature sound which keeps getting better with every release. If you heard the band’s debut LP ‘Dead To Me’ it was a fiery shot across the bow of ears everywhere. Now, with the release of their sophomore album ‘The New Life‘ fast approaching it is evident by the first two tracks, “Hypnotic Regression” and “Pittura Infamante,” that this effort is going get plenty of airplay in 2013 and beyond. By the way, you can Pre-Order ‘The New Life via Tough Love Records. Peace. Continue reading “girls names // pittura infamante”
A shot of modern guitar punk rock with a pinch of Dengue Fever
Seth Sutton helms the Nashville punk-rockerish band Useless Eaters. And if you like you rock adorned with the fuzzed-out guitar and dirty elements of the primal then the band’s latest 4-song ‘Black Night Ultraviolet‘ EP is what you need in your life right now. It drops July 31st. Peace.
After the release of their 2010 release ‘Wind Up Wooden Heart‘ via Antenna Farm Records, the San Franciscan 5-piece band Social Studies spent a great deal of time touring and writing new material in preparation for their next album. After a short break in 2011 their latest album ‘Developer‘ was released late last year (2012). The song “Away For The Weekend,” is a tumbling rock-infused bossa nova track, and like every SS tune it is carried wonderfully by lead singer Natalia Rogovin‘s warm vocals. After the jump you can also take a peek at the band’s “Terracur,” video. You’re welcome. Peace. Continue reading “social studies // away for the weekend”
A new year is just another opportunity to ease our souls with music.
Victoria Legrand and Alex Scally are the primary fixtures in the band Beach House, and oh there’s a drummer too (Daniel Franz). Anyway, check out their new video “New Year,” it features cats and all kinds of rural picturesque flora and fauna. The song is taken from their album ‘Bloom‘ via Sup Pop Records. Peace. Continue reading “beach house // new year”

SoCal-band Local Natives make good music, just check out their critically acclaimed Gorilla Manor (2010) for verification. Recently, the band released the first single “Heavy Feet,” taken from the forthcoming album release ‘Hummingbird‘ set to drop January 29th via Frenchkiss Records. The pre-order is available through iTunes. Peace. Continue reading “local natives // heavy feet”
Molly Hamilton and Robert Earl Thomas = Widowspeak. and how this two-person act gets such a large all-consuming sound of a duo project is beyond me. their song, “Ballad of the Golden Hour” is gorgeous beyond and it is the first release from the forthcoming album ‘Almanac‘ to be released january the 22nd 2013. I think Ms. Hamilton’s voice could melt the Hope diamond. peace. Continue reading “widowspeak // ballad of the golden hour”
The Amsterdams is a total musical fizzle stick dosed with strong heady red wine.
The Amsterdams are a five-member band hailing from Bucharest, Romania. But don’t let that startle you, it just goes to show that good music can, and does come from the most unlikely of places. the song, “Sunology,” is a recent addition to the band’s candy-coated pop oeuvre. And, just perhaps the latest song is a teaser for a in-the-works forthcoming album in the near and dear future. Also, if you like their sound go to the band’s soundcloud page for a lot more. peace. Continue reading “the amsterdams // sunology”
a debut of 5-songs that’ll leave their mark on your heart.
picked over winter bones and whiskey memories. perhaps these are the what is left upon listening to the debut album from the duo Maitland (Josh Hines and Jeff Mach). these are songs with mileage and head full of steam in their conveyance of lives ravaged by living. listen to each song which make up ‘from a cabin in the woods’ and be touched with cold fingers and hushed haunting tomes (and all this from mostly an acoustic guitar and two drum sets). you’ll wake up in the pitch black of night sweat introspection gasping for more. peace. Continue reading “maitland // from a cabin in the woods (our sunday best)”
brooklyn eclectic electro duo Black Marble (Chris Stewart, Ty Kube) give you plenty of reasons to fall under their musical spell, and with the release of their most recent album ‘A Different Arrangement’ there is more still to be excited about. after the jump check out the song, “Static” and vibe out to a somber melody crafted somewhere inside the dark galaxy of the duo collecive minds. peace. Continue reading “black marble // static”
