The artist known only as Meiko has a little big song titled “Leaves The Lights On” and it’s been remixed into a sleeker and slinkier affair by none other than The Crystal Method. However, and not keeping with the song’s theme I think it is apt to keep this song playing with the lights off and do your own version of dirty dancing with some lucky someone. “Leave the Lights On” from Meiko‘s forthcoming album The Bright Side scheduled to drop May 15th. Peace. Continue reading “Meiko // Leave The Lights On (The Crystal Method Remix)”
Deco // Thoughts Of The Past EP
DJ, producer, owner of the Deceast label the artist Deco is the consummate Jack of trades. But I’m more concerned with his knack for orchestrating sick beats with a penchant for the bass heavy and dapper dubstep. And really, I could go on and on but like always when it comes to music I like to let it just speak for itself. Peace. Continue reading “Deco // Thoughts Of The Past EP”
Lone // Spirals (Ft. Anneka)
Matt Cutler, bka Lone, is a dealer of sorts, he deals in things that go bump in the night. Rightly so there exists warnings galore concerning intoxicants which can be ingested orally or through the old olfactory locale. However, not one warning concerning the dangers of overdosing on music. We all know music can be the ultimate mood altering product, no? Especially, if you’re listening to the lush track “Spirals” by Lone featuring the THC-ridden vocals of Anneka. Yes, this is muy primo product. It’s 100% organic, highly addictive, yet it won’t put you in danger of losing your job or crashing your coche into a tree. You can pre-order the whole enchilada, Galaxy Garden available in iTunes. Peace. Continue reading “Lone // Spirals (Ft. Anneka)”
Alcoholic Faith Mission // Ask Me This (Official Video)
I want to go to Copenhagen and buy a round for the band members of Alcoholic Faith Mission. It’s simple, what beautiful music they make. Take a look see at the bands official video for the song “Ask Me This” taken from their latest LP of the same name. And if you get a golden opportunity to see this band live I implore you to take it. You can find them on tour, perhaps even someplace nearby. Enjoy. Peace. Continue reading “Alcoholic Faith Mission // Ask Me This (Official Video)”
Mean Jeans // Anybody Out There
Yeah, we know Portland is one of the bestest locals on the planet for indie rock bands and the fans who adore them. So, it is of little surprise that local band favorite Mean Jeans is much beloved for making lots of cool punk noise. Billy Jeans, Jeans Wilder and Freak Daniels make it sound like a whole lot of joyful, mayhap, inebriated fun. Check out the squirrely video for the song “Anybody Out There” shot and cut by Brett Roberts. Sure, it’s cheesy but cheese goes well on the great big sandwich of life. By the by, this fun song is just 1 of 13 from MJ‘s latest album On Mars available on iTunes and Amazon. Peace. Continue reading “Mean Jeans // Anybody Out There”
Major Lazer // Get Free (Ft. Amber Coffman)
Future time beatnauts Switch and Diplo conjure up another sonic pièce de résistance with their latest, “Get Free” featuring vocals and lyrics by the incomparable Amber Coffman (Dirty Projectors). Like all of their work this one is ultra bashy! Like smooth sweet cream butta’ on your very own piping hot slice of life. And don’t fret, you can cop a free download of this very track at www.majorlazergetfree.com. Peace. Continue reading “Major Lazer // Get Free (Ft. Amber Coffman)”
Joyce // Keep The Lights On
There are a great deal of musical connections when trying to decipher who Katherine Fussey is or isn’t. But most of these connections have little, if anything, to do with the music. However, in an attempt to build buzz or foster interest, the blogosphere has literally fleshed out her very literal family tree in an attempt to …. I don’t know, legitimize her. No need. All one has to do is listen to the music Katerine Fussey makes as Joyce. The single release, “Keep The Lights On,” is a club-worthy track that I’m sure will garner countless spins in as many equally countless clubs the world over. So, no need to name drop blood relations in regards to Joyce. This young songstress, well she’s more than holding her own in a quite danceable and groovy fashion. After the jump, check out the original “Keep The Lights On” track, as well as, the Clams Casino Remix and don’t forget to rest your eyes on the official video. Peace. Continue reading “Joyce // Keep The Lights On”
Bear In Heaven // The Reflection Of You

Perennial rockers Jon Philpot, Joe Stickney, and Adam Wills are the indie band Bear in Heaven, and they’ve released their latest album, I Love You It’s Cool, this week. The first single, “Reflection of You” is a frenetic sugar- coated electro gem worth sharing with your ears and your friends alike. I have also included the Lovelock Remix, this remix slows things down a bit and sets out wine and candles. Enjoy. Peace. Continue reading “Bear In Heaven // The Reflection Of You”
Zulu Winter // Silver Tongue
I first reviewed Zulu Winter way back in October ’11, and today I’m just as impressed with the band as the was then. Now, with the band’s latest single release “Silver Tongue,” I’m just plain excited! The new song is taken from the band’s forthcoming debut LP Language out on the veritable Arts & Crafts label. You can also pre-order the new album Language at Amazon and iTunes. Peace. Continue reading “Zulu Winter // Silver Tongue”
Wildcat! Wildcat! // End Of The World Everyday
Los Angeles trio Wildcat! Wildcat! are a sure bet to get you in a particular mood. A mood that leaches every worry away, or at least dull those concerns to a low hum. No doubt Jesse Taylor, Michael Wilson and Jesse Carmichael are being compared to MGMT but that’s ok. Because good music is good music. Point blank. But make no mistake these guys are not copy cats by any stretch of the imagination. And with songs like “Mr. Quiche” and “End Of The World Everyday” you’ll find yourself simply falling for Wc!Wc! for who they are and not for who you think their music sounds like. Peace.
