Air Tycoon // Winter Purple

At first listen you may ask yourself, “How can a mere 19-year old make such beautiful music?” Well, I’m not sure of the answer 19-year old Air Tycoon, bka Joe Garcia would give, and the only thing I can offer is a shrug of the shoulders and to implore you to just enjoy the music this young man is putting out. And putting it out good music for Air Tycoon seems to be quite the prolific thing to do. Since August of 2011 his output has included 4-EPs of high-caliber music. And it’s really nice of  Mr. Garcia to keep me in the loop whenever a new joint drops. And, I’m just glad to be on the ground floor with a good vantage point, so I can watch Air Tycoon’s climb higher and oh so higher! Listen to his latest Winter Purple release. And although I have the latest Winter Purple LP here after the jump, you have to go to his bandcamp and read his postscript. Totally badass. Peace.  Continue reading “Air Tycoon // Winter Purple”

Sabotoge // Beastie Boys (Clockwork 2012 Bootleg) Remix

Pulling away from the pack of up and coming DJ/Producers is City of Angels native Clockwork (aka Henry Steinway). And when one deigns to approach a classic like the Beastie Boys‘ “Sabotoge” you better go big or stay the hell home. Well, Clockwork chose the former and transforms a classic into an off-planet recreation equipped with enough high energy propulsion to propel listeners to the outer reaches of the universe between two ears. And because he’s cool peeps (and he recently turned the big 2-1) Clockwork is giving the remixed Sabotoge away, just visit his www.facebook.com/clockworkmusic. Enjoy and let your backbone slip. Peace. Continue reading “Sabotoge // Beastie Boys (Clockwork 2012 Bootleg) Remix”

Air Tycoon – Los Angeles

/ Waves of pliant experience lap flesh like seasoned shifts of heat // & it is all of nothing /// or something & all /// & it is the sweetest taste multiplied by lust //// /& when she arches her back skyward ////// her ecstasy vibrating whetted frequencies in dual triplicate /////// i know upon her soft descent my gratification will catch her with thankfulness & awe.

And so the sounds keeps palpitating and sensually shifting as I experience the lustness and lushness of Air Tycoon and the washed and ready fruit of the track “Los Angeles.” So much heaven it’s hell to hold. Peace. Continue reading “Air Tycoon – Los Angeles”

Milo Greene – Don’t You Give Up On Me

Aside from the pick me up song title, which I like a lot. This band is filled with gargantuan promise and all the potential in the world. No unnecessary fillers either. Every song on their The Hello Sessions EP is organic and vibrant like the foodstuffs you decide over at a farmers market. And like the literal farmers market, the songs of Milo Greene are just as fresh and colorful. In addition to the “Don’t You Give Up On Me” song I really adore, well … all of them. Think I’m joshing you? Go ahead and check ’em out below. Peace.

blacknbloom // music for the modern monkey

A whole different level of different but good.

Nothing wrong with keeping it simple and straight to the point. This is what you get when you listen to BlacknBloom. Yeah, they got drum machines, synths and a gaggle of other electric instrumentation. Yet, the music of Lori Steele and Alberto Beka manages to sound uncomplicated and simplistic. I love this modern duo from Los Angeles, because in a town known for its fake plastic personalities these two come across as anti-posers. And then there is Ms. Steele’s sing-song-rap-talkish vocals, which rings of above average elocution and rains on my eardrums like airy-hushiness personified. You can stream the debut LP Music for the Modern Monkey below. I really like the tracks “Slip Away” and “Hollywood Blvd. Remix” Check ’em out. Peace.
