Taiwo Heard may have been born and raised in Washington, D.C. but his musical influences are anything but local. So, if you’re in the mood for rock-grunge-ish meets electronica then listen as you glisten to Taiwo Heard’s debut Frontier To Eternity EP. The end result is a mix bag of  musical influences, i.e. classic rock, R&B, Soul, etc. Mr. Heard music sounds homogenous, but only partly so, it lacks the cloying and redundancy commercialism. Yet, the music occupies the realm of the familiar and the innovative, simultaneously. Basically, it’s fresh like the heliosphere blowing through the young lungs of a burgeoning solar system.

In 2005 Heard graduated from the impeccable Berklee College of Music, shortly thereafter the move was made to Los Angeles. Long story short, Taiwo Heard joined forces with long-time friend Eddie Robinson and formed the electro-pop band, Swivel. In addition to performing and providing the vocals, Mr. Heard wrote and produced the band’s debut album, Landing. However, this union didn’t last long, the group disbanded a few years later.

But the damage had already been done, through his previous experiences Taiwo Heard gained a ton of exposure via the blogosphere, the music press in general, and a legion of fans the world over. If you were fortunate enough to catch Swivel at any of the countless domestic and international festival tour dates, then count yourself lucky indeed.

Right now you can get a FREE DOWNLOAD of the Frontier To Eternity EP via Noisetrade, although it would only be prudent and just plain nice to drop a little sumpin’ sumpin’ in the kitty. Peace.
