the davenports | miranda in her room
Check out the latest single Miranda In Her Room a collaborative duet between The Davenports’ Scott Klass and Shirley Simms (of Magnetic Fields fame). This folkish and waltzy ode is like a fine sip of bourbon on a rainy day. Also, Brooklyn band The Davenports lead vocalists Scott Klass sings semi-doleful lyrics within the sketch work of the beautifully arranged track Away From Me. The single is one of several the band has released this year including 15 Steps + Away From Me EP. Here’s hoping for a proper (and new) album in the coming year. Peace.

Miranda In Her Room Lyrics:
Miranda’s in her room again
We come before we call
Her mark of miles underground
Is up upon the wall
Movie picks a blander mix
We come with all we know
To lift her up
Since she threw in the towel long ago
Tell her tonight’s so pretty
Chances are all about
Come try your hand see if you can
Get our Miranda out
Hmmmm hmmm hmmmm
Hmmmm hmmm hmmmm hmmmmm
Molly marvels yet again
You must be in demand
How such a beauty isn’t I
We’ll never understand
Too mean to me brays Ann Marie
How can you be so cruel
When you were such a firefly
A girl in the pool
Tell her tonight’s so pretty
Chances are all about
Come try your hand see if you can
Get our Miranda out (2x)
Come try your hand see if you can
Get our Miranda out.
Hmmmm hmmm hmmmm
Hmmmm hmmm hmmmm hmmmmm
