Joyce // Keep The Lights On

There are a great deal of musical connections when trying to decipher who Katherine Fussey is or isn’t. But most of these connections have little, if anything, to do with the music. However, in an attempt to build buzz or foster interest, the blogosphere has literally fleshed out her very literal family tree in an attempt to …. I don’t know, legitimize her. No need. All one has to do is listen to the music Katerine Fussey makes as Joyce. The single release, “Keep The Lights On,” is a club-worthy track that I’m sure will garner countless spins in as many equally countless clubs the world over. So, no need to name drop blood relations in regards to Joyce. This young songstress, well she’s more than holding her own in a quite danceable and groovy fashion. After the jump, check out the original “Keep The Lights On” track, as well as, the Clams Casino Remix and don’t forget to rest your eyes on the official video. Peace. Wildcat! Wildcat! // End Of The World Everyday

Los Angeles trio Wildcat! Wildcat! are a sure bet to get you in a particular mood. A mood that leaches every worry away, or at least dull those concerns to a low hum. No doubt Jesse Taylor, Michael Wilson and Jesse Carmichael are being compared to MGMT but that’s ok. Because good music is good music. Point blank. But make no mistake these guys are not copy cats by any stretch of the imagination. And with songs like “Mr. Quiche” and “End Of The World Everyday” you’ll find yourself simply falling for Wc!Wc! for who they are and not for who you think their music sounds like. Peace. Py & iO // Whispers

Jade Elizabeth Pybus bka as Py has been my “go to” chanteuse of choice as of late. And really it’s impossibly difficult not to like her, not that I’m trying “to not like her” either. You may have noticed that I keep posting songs on which Py appears. And you can expect more of the same in the future, hopefully to no one’s chagrin.  Basically, my ears do somersaults at the mere mention of her name, and I’m utterly and completely enthralled with the way she delivers her musical voice; her vocal range is caught somewhere in-between the whispery voice of an angel and the last drop of a very good red vine on the devil’s tongue. Badilicious. Listen to the song “Whispers” (Ft. iO) or get totally seduced by her contribution to the song “Moments” taken from When You’re Gone EP by Lapalux. Rock them both with the lights down low, it’ll be total afterglow. Peace. Continue reading “Py & iO // Whispers”

Flight Facilities // Crave You (Ft. Giselle) Our Sunday Best

Regardless of their iron-clad secret identities the Aussie duo Flight Facilities offer up radiantly plush chilled-out grooves with the innate ability of putting your oft-times frenzied frontal lobe on ice. I’ve dug into the crates (ala 2010) to find this one for Our Sunday’s Best series. Why? Because the first day of the week should be immersed in doing little of nothing and vibing out to good music maximally. Flight Facilities’ song “Crave You,” featuring the vocals of fellow Aussie Giselle Rosselli is the perfect sound cloud in which to lay your precious ears upon. I recommend the longer version, which you can get on iTunes or Amazon. After the jump you’ll see I also grabbed the official video too, plus a few more highly communicable tracks. I’m so thoughtful. Peace. Continue reading “Flight Facilities // Crave You (Ft. Giselle) Our Sunday Best”

the ting tings // soul killing

Jules De Martino and Katie White definitely have a good thing going, especially with the mega awesome Sounds From Nowheresville LP on their hands. My ears are finicky listeners but they’ve practically salivating for much more when I play the latest from The Ting Tings. This new joint is practically jumping off the player and onto the dance floor. Now, here is my disclaimer, if you break something while dancing to this I am not liable. Check out the “Hang It Up” Banana Dynamite Remix plus more after the jump. Peace. Continue reading “the ting tings // soul killing”

Severin / / Everything Breaks EP / / Macabea *Video

Perhaps when the sun sets is when Danny Sanchez and Elizabeth Anne Martin shine brightest. It’s an odd, yet totally mesmerizing music this duo makes. It’s skittish and naughty, not as playful as most electro music you may be familiar with, but just as enjoyable. Especially, after you’ve imbibed your chosen elixir and are laying next to your chosen “friend” for an intimate evening of … well, you fill in the blank. The music of Severin is more akin to the murkier dungeons within one’s mind, not accustomed to much light and totally comfortable luxuriating or basking in the dimness on your darker secrets. It is totally appropriate, and highly suggested that you wait until nightfall to begin your journey into their Everything Breaks EP, and although it doesn’t officially drop until March 19th you can have a listen after the jump. And for an in-depth interview about the origins of Severin check out their interview at www.londontheinsidemusic.com. Peace. Continue reading “Severin / / Everything Breaks EP / / Macabea *Video”

py & damu // blind

Londoner Jade Elizabeth Pybus does one thing extremely well, and that’s opening her mouth and letting pure sun-sound wash over your eardrums. As Py she is known to lay the vocals on thick and relentlessly plush, and currently she has teamed up with music guru Damu and together they’ve conjured up 100% magic. Check out the track “Blind” and you’ll be all in, and maybe a bit undone by the sheer beauty of it. You can get the download on SoundCloud and play it to your hearts desire. Be on the lookout for Py’s mixtape Tripping On Wisdom on May 21st. Peace. Continue reading “py & damu // blind”
