frank ocean // lost + video

Yup. It’s cool.

I love Frank Ocean. I mean really, what is there not to like about this young singer/songwriter? He’s highly inventive and his take on modern R&B is unlike anything I’ve witnessed in years. The song Lost appears on his 2012 debut release Channel Orange, and is nestled in-between the grandeur of  Pyramids (track 10) and the truncated jewel White (track 12 featuring John Mayer). The songs bumps along in a bossa nova fueled Pop overdose complete with female anatomy references  and drug terminology, it’s a familiar storyline ensconced within the velvety folds of Mr. Oceans vocals.  Peace. kyan // perfect crime

Kyan is the perfect embodiment of the indie spirit and through his hard work and creativity people are taking notice! The reason? Well, in part it is his videos, but also because his songs are inventive and not surprisingly well written R&B/Pop gems. Recently he unveiled a new video for the song song Perfect Crime, which is just a whole lot of fun. Period. The home-made video was made possible due his many Youtube-fans and followers, and I suspect his fanshiip will only head north, ya dig?. We’re expecting big things from Kyan and you should too. Peace. Continue reading “kyan // perfect crime”

jeremih // bo peep (do you right) + f**k u all the time (shlohmo remix) + video

Shlohmo + Jeremih = OMG!

Bo Peep (Do U Right), is the first official collaboration between Shlohmo and Jeremih and it rides the erogenous zones of every earlobe fortunate enough to be graced by it’s immaculate R&B laced presence.

Remember? How it awakened you. Again and again the beat was relentless. It banged. Pounded. Left bruises in delicate places… these are the talents of Shlohmo and how we recall when he combines forces with Jeremih they conceived the erotic Fuck U All The Time. How they striped it naked and adorned it with titillating bass, and with the under current of synth work it rippled like the ohhhs and ahhhs from one under the sensual influence of the most talented lover… so bang it. Literally. Peace. Continue reading “jeremih // bo peep (do you right) + f**k u all the time (shlohmo remix) + video”

lapalux // guuurl

Why waste money on psychotherapy when you can listen to Lapalux.

British producer Stuart Howard is Lapalux. This 25-year old producer proliferates his tracks with a resplendent blend of sonic characteristics: R&B, Hip Hop and House. Yet, it all comes together without sounding overdone or cloying. The end result comes together nicely like the Upper and Lower Nile. His latest single release, “Guuurl” is one of twelve songs from his forthcoming LP ‘Nostalchic‘. Lapalux recently put out a doublet of EPs ‘When Your Gone‘ (02/06/12) and ‘Some Other Time‘ (10/15/12) via Brainfeeder.  Peace. Continue reading “lapalux // guuurl”

frank ocean // pink matter remix (ft. big boi)

Cotton Candy, Majin Buu and the dirty southern Big Boi.

Not only is the song “Pink Matter,” the center piece of Frank Ocean‘s ‘Channel Orange‘ (my opinion) it is also my favorite of the 17-song debut release. However, now the track reaches greater heights of dope-ability with the added vocal presence of Big Boi (OutKast). This is a must have remix and it can be yours just by clicking here and downloading your free copy. Peace. Continue reading “frank ocean // pink matter remix (ft. big boi)”

frank ocean // wiseman

Frank Ocean is that rare artist inhaling the exhalations of angles’ dreams, then he opens his mouth and the stars weep rivers.

Although I have written extensively regarding the young and super-talented Mr. Frank Ocean, I find myself penning yet another ream of inadequate words in an attempt to describe the magic of yet another gorgeous song titled, ‘Wiseman‘. The official word, is originally the song was supposed to be included in Quentin Tarantino’s deep dirty southern film ‘Django Unchained‘soundtrack. But alas, it didn’t come to pass.  It’s ok though, ’cause we still have this beautiful song released out into the world for us all to enjoy. Peace. Continue reading “frank ocean // wiseman”
