Plugin Name: Distrify Embed
Plugin URI: http://support.distrify.com/customer/portal/articles/264106-how-do-i-embed-on-a-wordpress-blog-
Description: Extends WordPress's Embeds allowing bloggers to easily embed videos from Distrify. Just go to any Distrify film page or player and copy the URL. Paste that URL in any WordPress blog and it will automatically be converted to an embedded Distrify player. If you are logged in to distrify.com it will automatically add your affiliate tracking code to your embeds. Make sure you turn on Auto-embeds in your WP settings and also make sure that the URL is on its own line and not hyperlinked (clickable when viewing the post). The plugin also extracts the still image from the film and saves it as the Featured Image for the post. This actually works for any Embed (not just Distrify) that you embed into your WordPress blog.

Why waste your time being yourself when, “You can be cool / you cool like me,” quips Fryars on his latest release Cool Like Me. But don’t take him too seriously because he’s just funnin’ around and really wants to make you a better person by inspiring your body to dance. I must say though this track makes my ears smile from ear to ear (imagine that). Peace. Continue reading “fryars // cool like me”
Dent May offers us the super smooth track Born Too Late and it gets some especial treatment by house legend Larry Heard (Mr. Fingers). The results are perfect ear stimulation and body motivation. Good job Mr. Heard. Also, make sure to reserve your copy by pre-ordering Dent May’s forthcoming Warm Blanket LP, it drops August 27th via Paw Tracks Records. And if you like this remix you may just want to check out Dent May’s soundcloud page too. Peace.
Brothertiger delivers the goods with Future Splendors, this nostalgic new ten-track album is follow-up to his debut, Golden Years. The album is laid out with an abundance of luxurious synths and sparkling accoutrement, as is the production work. This LP seethes with an intricate and enveloping aura, and the melodies and lyrics are undeniably lush and meaningful. John Jagos‘ vocals are masterfully sung throughout, and as a result this may just be the best Brothertiger to date. I am posting the lead-single, In Mind and keep in mind, the album drops September 24th via Mush Records. Peace.
Jake Mattison is a man set free. Out of the darkness and into a blessed light, we are charmed by the bejeweled and triumphant songs of this mere man. Each note thrums warmly up and down his latest song Golden Friend. Listening to his pain muddled timbre, it is easy to hear it’s bluish, wrung out and forthright triumph. And while Mr. Mattison is no braggart his song has plenty of reason to puff up it’s chests and hold a beautifully turned out head high. The Golden Friend EP drops July 15th just about everywhere you could want it. Peace. Continue reading “jake mattison // golden friend”
The bass-heavy, deep house influenced sound of The Other Tribe is just the sort of music combination made for summer. The Bristol-based The Other Tribe offer up their My Girl single for you aural consumption and you don’t need utensils or a napkins. So forget table manners and get your nom nom on by the earful. This track makes me feel nude in a good way laying beneath starry skies and the breath of a full moon shining down whilst I dance the night away, ok maybe not. The Other Tribe are bunkered down in-between shows at their studio alongside producer Mark Ralph (Hot Natured, Hot Chip, Digitalism), distilling their hedonistic live performances into the tracks that will form their debut album. I will keep you posted. Peace. Continue reading “the other tribe // my girl (full vocal mix)”
Brooklyn-based Ben Wyeth and Jerm Renyolds are the band Hockey. The duo makes Reggae fueled soulful fun, which resonates nicely with the fleeting summer don’t ‘cha think? Check out their track Calling Back and the accompanying video, it features the boys wearing 3D specs and watching themselves getting their pugilistic groove on. Stay tuned for future tour dates, and by the way their new album Wyeth Is is out now. Peace.Continue reading “hockey // calling back”
Paul Dixon the propulsive force and behind-the-scenes maestro giving the breath of life to the Fyfe musical persona. Check him out as he delivers the beat rattling and seductive track Conversations. This is the release follow-up to his buzz generating and affectionate debutSolace EP. The single drops July 2nd, but it is my ardent hope that a full-length LP is in the works. Peace.Continue reading “fyfe // conversations + video”
If an individual is judged not only by his accomplishments but by their creativity and influence then David Lynch gets a solid and uncontested 10 out of 10. It seems like Mr. Lynch has an innate ability to keep things perpetually fresh and eternally innovative. The song and video for his latest I’m Waiting Here featuring the pie-voiced Lykke Li is bedridden with the opium of dream and the sensuous texture of ecstasy.
The latest track from Blackbird Blackbird is titled Summer’s Almost Here is out and about making friends with ears everywhere. And, according to the band, “This track is about dancing under moonlight with friends and loved ones, embracing the seasons, and transitioning into a period of irreversible change.” Also, the band is hard at work putting the finishing touches on their forthcoming LP. Peace. Continue reading “blackbird blackbird // summer’s almost here”
The new Christopher Hainey-directed video for the song Old Ash by Maps & Atlases is fresh out the barbershop! The album Beware and Be Grateful, is out now on Barsuk Records. Nothing like having a song to shave too, huh? Peace.
